Uttar Pradesh is India's biggest state in India in terms of population. The state is home to some of the best educational institutions in India. Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, also has top colleges in distinct fields like law, engineering, commerce etc. Talking about the best LLB colleges in Lucknow, the University of Lucknow is second to none. Apart from Lucknow University, Integral University, Amity Law School, City Academy Law College etc. are some of the top LLB colleges in Lucknow.
Since LLB is an undergraduate course for Law, all the eligibility criteria are demanded according to that. Eligibility criteria means the term and conditions according to which students are eligible to apply for the college. Every college may have their own eligibility criteria. We have listed down some common eligibility criteria demanded by every LLB College.
Below we have mentioned all the term and conditions required for applying to a LLB course: -
The candidate needs to complete the 10+2 examination from a recognized board.
It is not mandatory to take any stream for Law courses, however, some colleges do prefer candidates with art/humanities streams.
The student should score at least 50% in their 10+2 examination.
The candidate needs to be of at least 17 years minimum.
The admission process means a procedure or steps for getting a seat or admission into a particular college. Every college has their own admission process. Below we have mentioned common admission process for LLB: -
The student needs to complete all the eligibility criteria, only after which they will be able to apply for the college.
In LLB, there are two ways of admission process which are opted by colleges. The most opted process is the Entrance exam process. And very few colleges give admission on merit-based processes.
Entrance exam means a test which can be conducted on national level, state level or institution level. On the National level, the most popular entrance exam which is expected by almost every law college is CLAT. Since we are seeing about the LLB colleges in Lucknow, there is no such state level examination in Uttar Pradesh for LLB or Law course. Once the students appear in the entrance exam, a few days later results are announced, and law colleges also declare their cutoff. Cutoff means a benchmark of certain percentile or marks is set by colleges and students who score equal to or more than that benchmark in the entrance exam get a seat in that college. Every college has their own cutoffs and students will get admission only in that college of which they have scored equal to more than the cutoff set by the college.
Next process is Merit basis. Merit basis is opted by very few colleges in India. In this process, admission is given based on percentage acquired in 10+2 board examinations. Colleges declare their cutoff during the admission period and students who have acquired more than that cutoff in their 10+2 examination or equal to it will get a seat in that college.
Above mentioned were two different processes, and law colleges may opt any one of them.
After this process, some colleges may also take personal interview rounds and students who pass both the entrance exam/ merit basis round plus the personal interview round, will get an admission to that college.
