The Andhra Pradesh Law Common Admission Test, usually referred to as AP LAWCET, is a state-level law entrance examination that is administered by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam in Tirupati. The 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes offered by the law institutes in Andhra Pradesh consider the AP LAWCET test as a prerequisite for admission for the students.

Types of Questions - The questions provided in AP LAWCET 2023 will be Multiple Choice Questions ( MCQ’s ) on sections like general Knowledge, current affairs and mental ability and aptitude for the study of law for the students. For every question, there would be 4 options and the students have to choose any 1 from the options given in AP LAWCET exam.
Language - The AP LAWCET will be conducted in English and Telugu versions and AP PGLCET question paper will be in English only.
Marking scheme - For each correct answer, candidates will get one mark. The question paper of AP LAWCET will be divided into three sections. First two sections will have 30 questions each, carrying 1 mark each. The second section will also have 30 questions carrying 1 mark each. The third section will consist of 60 questions carrying a total of 60 marks. There won’t be any negative marking scheme for the questions in AP LAWCET 2023 examination.
Standard of test - The expected standard for a 5 year law programme is at the Intermediate level, while a 3-year programme is at the degree level for AP LAWCET exam.
Candidates preparing for the AP LAWCET 2023 exam should be well versed with the syllabus also. The AP LAWCET 2023 syllabus informs about the topics from which questions will be asked in the examination. The question paper of AP LAWCET 2023 has three sections - general knowledge and mental ability, current affairs and legal aptitude. Students can check the subject wise distribution of questions and marks in the table given below.

The entrance test for LLM programmes will be a 90 minutes duration test consisting of 120 questions of 1 mark each.
Part-A - 40 questions on Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law
Part -B - 80 questions on Public International Law, Mercantile Law, Labour Law, Crimes and Torts, and IPR and Other Laws.

There will be 120 questions in AP LAWCET 2022. All questions will be multiple choice type questions ( MCQs ).
No, there is no negative marking in AP LAWCET 2022. Candidates can attempt all questions.
Although all subjects included in AP LAWCET syllabus are important. However, the legal aptitude section carries more weightage than other sections. 50% of questions will be asked from legal aptitude.
Students should read a daily newspaper like ‘The Hindu’ and ‘Times Of India’ along with monthly current affairs magazines of the last six to seven months for preparing AP LAWCET.

The number of candidates appearing for the examination of current year is hard to predict as the numbers keep going up. If we consider the previous year data a total of 11,497 candidates appeared for the examination out of which 89.5% candidates qualified the exam.
