Careers360 Ranking of Law Colleges in India based on student quality
Rahul, 09 Jan 2015

Careers360 has ranked top law colleges in India based on various parameters. In this special series of Law Colleges Ranking 2015, Careers360 brings you a list of law colleges ranked on the basis of student quality. The advent of National Law School phenomenon has drastically changed the way law as a profession is perceived. What was once a less-preferred option has caught the imagination of the young, thanks to the NLS phenomenon.

With over 30,000 aspirants, law has picked up steam. But nearly 70% of Law Schools in the country still offer 3-year LLB instead of the five-year integrated BA LLB or other variants of the same.

Student Quality

The students at the best Law Schools in the country enjoy substantial autonomy and are encouraged by the faculty to engage in a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities. This is also due to a pan-India presence and a healthy gender balance. The other reason for the institutes to figure among the top ten is that their entrance cut-off score is exemplary. The students work hard in CLAT/LSAT to get into their preferred college and are entrusted to continue with their diligence as is the norm of the best Law Schools listed here. Legal experts have also been saying that academic culture makes a world of difference where the students of top Law Schools are found way ahead of their counterparts in other law colleges. Symbiosis Law School is the sole private institute in the top ten, though others are fast catching up, incorporating changes in their overall outlook and academic culture to attract the best, not compromising on the student intake quality.
