CLAT 2014 Result-
Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) has admitted that some of the CLAT 2014 takers were inappropriately placed in the merit list after they were awarded wrong scores due to ‘mismatching of score’ with other candidates.

The university had withheld CLAT 2014 Results hours after announcing it owing to ‘technical discrepancies’ even as many CLAT takers alleged that wrong evaluation brought them shocking scores after the results were announced late night on May 31, 2014.

Explaining the decision to withheld the results of CLAT 2014, the exam conducting authority said that a few cases were identified where the actual score of one candidate was marked in the name of other candidate, leading to ‘a scenario of mismatching of score and eventual incorrect merit list’.

The University withheld the results after test takers and parents alerted them over alleged discrepancy in the scores. “Upon declaration of the results on 31 May 2014, the CLAT -2014 Secretariat, Gujarat National Law University, received emails from several CLAT-2014 candidates expressing concern on the marks expected and the score declared,” the university said.

After the CLAT 2014 results were declared, many candidates had complained discrepancies in their scores. Social media was abuzz with many candidates reporting their CLAT scores shocking as they said that the marks were unrealistic and beyond their imagination. Candidates also demanded the GNLU to release their answer sheet which may verify their claim of ‘wrong evaluation’.

The authorities, however, assured an early resolution to the issue and said it would ensure that any delay due to this reconciliation is reduced to the maximum extent possible.

It also added that OMR answer sheets will be uploaded in individual candidate’s login account once the reconciliation process is over. In addition to access to softcopy of their own OMR, the CLAT-2014 Secretariat will be open for interested candidates for physical verification, it said.
