The decision was made when on November 17, 2015 a Committee on CLAT 2016 was constituted where all participating National Law Universities (NLUs) participated and various matters regarding modalities and schedule of CLAT 2016 was worked out. Careers360: So is it now official that Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala will be conducting CLAT 2016? Dr. G.I.S. Sandhu: Yes it is now official that RGNUL Patiala is conducting CLAT 2016. A meeting of CLAT Core Committee was organized on November 17, 2015 where important decisions regarding CLAT 2016 were made.
Careers360: What are the dates of CLAT 2016 and what arrangements are on your watch for the coveted law entrance exam?Dr. G.I.S. Sandhu: The CLAT Core Committee meeting was attended by all the Vice-Chancellors of participating National Law Universities (NLUs), where it was decided that RGNUL Patiala will be conducting CLAT 2016 on May 8 in online mode. The official notification for CLAT 2016 will be out on December 14, 2015 and the applications in online mode will begin from January 1, 2016.Candidates will be able to fill the applications till March 31, 2016.
The RGNUL has started making necessary arrangement for the conduct of CLAT 2016 for admission to Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Courses of Law and will be informed in due course of time.
Careers360: What is new in CLAT 2016?Dr. G.I.S. Sandhu: CLAT 2016 shall be an admission test for admissions to undergraduate and post graduate law programmes in 17 National Law Universities (NLUs). Yes, the CLAT 2016 Committee has one more NLU added to its list and the newest addition is Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Mumbai.
Careers360: Last year CLAT got embroiled in some controversies. What pre-arrangements have you planned to avoid the likely situations?Dr. G.I.S. Sandhu: All necessary measures are being adopted to conduct the Entrance Test in a fair and transparent manner.
Careers360: A writ petition filed by Dr. Shamnad Basheer is still pending in the Supreme Court of India demanding constitution of permanent CLAT body and the next hearing is scheduled for January 4, 2016. Amidst the case hearing, RGNUL Patiala has announced to conduct CLAT 2016.Dr. G.I.S. Sandhu: On behalf of all member National Law Universities, the RGNUL is defending the Writ Petition filed by Shamnad Basheer. Since there is no stay order issued by Hon'ble Supreme Court in this case the process of CLAT 2016 has been initiated.
Careers360: How many test centres will be allocated for the law exam?Dr. G.I.S. Sandhu: Last year CLAT was held at 173 test centres in 52 cities. Number of test centres and cities shall be decided as per requirement for the conduct of CLAT 2016, on receipt of applications. In case the number of candidates increases for ClAT 2016, more test centres may be created at other cities.
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the most coveted law entrance exam conducted by National Law Universities (NLUs) by rotation in the order of their establishment for admissions to a total of 2252 seats distributed among the 17 participating NLUs for five-year integrated and post graduate law programmes including BA LLB, B.Sc LLB, B.Com LLB and LLM.

clat exam eligibility criteria is candidate need to pass 10+2 course from a recognized university with 45% marks (general category). candidate from any stream can apply for clat ug irrespective of their age, as age criteria has been removed by BCI. so you may apply for clat. hope I have solved your query.
CLAT is an entrance examination for admission in
NLUs(NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITIES)
. Its an offline-based exam, CLAT is conducted at around 40 centres around the country for admitting candidates to undergraduate law programs in the 21 participating NLUs.
The application form of CLAT 2020 is expected to be released around the 2nd week of January; candidates will have around 3 months time to submit the application form. The admit card of CLAT 2020 will be released around the 2nd week of May. CLAT 2020 will be of
duration and include
200 multiple-choice questions
of 1 marks each; note each incorrect attempt will invite penalty of 0.25 marks.
