CLAT 2023: Admission Lists (Out), Cutoff, Result, Counselling, Toppers

CLAT 2023: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the second round of CLAT 2023 seat allotment on January 27, 2023. Candidates included in the admission list of CLAT 2023 will have to accept the seat and complete the fee payment. Such candidates can also apply for an upgrade or exit the admission process. The counselling of CLAT 2023 is being conducted in five rounds, in online mode. Earlier the consortium announced the CLAT 2023 result on December 23, 2022. Candidates can download their score card of CLAT 2023 online, by logging into the registration portal. CLAT topper has secured 116.75 marks. Whereas, CLAT LLM topper secured 95.25 marks. The CLAT 2023 was conducted on December 18, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, in offline mode. The CLAT exam was easy to moderate as per the students. CLAT 2023 exam analysis - Student review, difficulty level

CLAT exam analysis 2023

According to students, the CLAT 2023 question paper was moderate but lengthy. The Logical reasoning section was slightly difficult, but all other sections were easy to moderate. A good attempt in CLAT should be around 115+ this year based on students' reactions. However, a detailed analysis will be updated soon in this article.

CLAT 2023 exam analysis

The law entrance exam will have questions from the CLAT 2023 syllabus which includes topics such as general knowledge, current affairs, legal aptitude, logical reasoning, English and maths. The CLAT application form 2023 has been closed on November 18, 2022. It will also release the third CLAT sample paper soon for all candidates who have registered and completed the application process. Two CLAT sample papers have already been released for the candidates. In addition to this, an Emotional Health Support Service (EHSS) is also available for registered candidates.

This is for the first time that the Common Law Admission Test or CLAT is being held as early as December instead of its usual time, i.e., the first week of May. CLAT 2024 will also be held in December 2023, in offline mode. It is good for the candidates as Common Law Admission Test will not clash with board exams. However, aspirants should also consider that they have less time to prepare for CLAT 2023. So, they are advised to prepare accordingly.

The consortium has released the final CLAT 2023 answer key on December 22, 2022. The provisional answer key of CLAT 2023 along with the master question paper was released on December 18, 2022, at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The answer key mentions the official answers to the questions asked in the examination. Candidates by using the CLAT 2023 answer key can calculate their marks. They will also be allowed to raise objections against the answer key.

CLAT result 2023

The consortium has announced the CLAT 2023 result on December 23, 2023. The CLAT result 2023 has been announced in the form of individual scorecards as well as percentiles. Candidates will be able to download the CLAT 2023 result by logging into their registered account. The result will mention details such as marks obtained by the candidate in the examination, rank, qualifying status and other relevant details.

CLAT Cut off 2023

Candidates appearing in CLAT 2023 should be aware of the previous year cut offs and trends. This will help them prepare for the examination accordingly. The CLAT cut off is the minimum mark required in the examination for admission to a national law university. The cut-offs vary from college to college, depending on college preference given by the candidates and their marks in CLAT examination. The previous year's NLU cut-off given below will help the candidates understand the trends.

Interesting facts about CLAT 2023

• This is for the first time that two CLATs are being conducted in the same year. CLAT 2022 was held on June 19, 2022. And, CLAT 2023 will be held on December 18, 2022.

• CLAT 2023 was conducted for admission to 22 national law universities. Only National Law University, Delhi will not participate in the CLAT 2023 examination as it conducts a separate entrance examination - The All-India Law Entrance Test.

• Around 70,000 candidates register for CLAT every year, making it one of the toughest examinations in the country.

• Candidates appearing in CLAT 2023 may also use their CLAT scores for admission to several law colleges other than NLUs. These colleges will be called CLAT-affiliated colleges as they sign agreements with the NLU Consortium.

• The academic year in national law universities will start around July or August 2023. The counselling will be conducted based on CLAT scores.

CLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to appear in CLAT 2023, must meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates who are not eligible for admission to integrated LLB programmes offered by NLUs will not be considered for admission even if they pass the examination. Therefore, it becomes mandatory for the candidates to fulfil the CLAT eligibility criteria.

1. For UG-CLAT 2023, the candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 45% aggregate marks (40% in the case of SC and ST candidates).

2. If you are currently studying in Class 12 or an equivalent course and are set to appear in the board examination in May or April 2023, you are eligible to appear in CLAT 2023. However, admission will again be subject to meeting the eligibility criteria, including minimum marks in Class 12).

CLAT application form 2023

The Consortium of NLUs closed the CLAT 2023 application form on November 18. The application form was released on August 08, 2022. Candidates could register for CLAT 2023 online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT application correction and fee submission window were open only for registered candidates till November 20, 2022. The application process for CLAT 2023 is given below.

Fill out CLAT application form 2023 - Enter the personal and communication details, and educational qualifications, and select the test centres and reservation status.

Preview application form - Check all the details to verify that all details are entered correctly.

Submit CLAT application form 2023 and fee payment - After verification, submit the application form, and pay the application fee. The CLAT 2023 application fee is Rs 4,000 for general category candidates and Rs 3,500 for SC and ST candidates.

CLAT exam centre 2023

The consortium will conduct the CLAT 2023 exam in around 131 exam centres across the country. Candidates will be provided exam centres as per their preference and the availability of seats in the preferred exam centres. Candidates will be able to check the designated exam centre on their admit card.

CLAT 2023 admission preference to NLUs

Candidates may update their preferences for admission to NLUs anytime before 11:59 pm, December 17, 2022. Any requests for a change in preferences for admission to NLUs after 11:59 pm on December 17, 2022 will not be accommodated. Candidates must fill a minimum of 5 (five) preferences. There is no outer limit to the number of preferences that may be filled.

Candidates will be considered for admission only to the NLUs filled by them in their preference form. If a candidate has chosen only five NLUs, then they will be considered for allotment of seats only in those five NLUs and not to any other NLU.

Candidates will be admitted to preferred NLUs only if:

a. Vacancies are available in other NLUs;

b. As per the merit list, the candidate has a higher rank than the cut-off list announced by NLUs not preferred by the Candidate.

Before filling the preference form for admission to NLUs, candidates must check the respective NLU’s brochure to confirm that they are eligible to apply for admission to the programme that they are filling in their preference list.

Steps to fill NLUs preference and download CLAT 2023 admit card

Candidates are requested to follow the steps given below to fill their preferences for admission to NLUs:

a. Login to your CLAT account at consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2023

b. Click on Update Preferences

c. Fill the preferences as required and click the Update Preferences button.

d. Click on Download Admit Card button
