Candidates to apply for the national level law entrance examination are advised to read and understand the eligibility criteria of CLAT 2019 clearly as it is an important requirement to be fulfilled before form filling. Aspirants of Common Law Admission Test 2019 can find the details like the minimum marks required, age criteria and the minimum academic qualifications required to fill the application form of CLAT 2019. However, candidates should also note that they can get the information on the CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2019 for both the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. It should also be noted that every NLU participating in CLAT 2019 may have their respective CLAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria. Candidates should have passed Senior Secondary School Examination/ 12th Board Examination from any recognised educational institution.
Candidates need to score atleast 45% marks in their qualifying degree to appear in CLAT 2019. For the candidates belonging to SC and ST categories need to score at least 40 percent marks in the aggregate of subjects.
CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2019 – For Postgraduate law programmes
Candidates who will appear in CLAT 2019 to seek admission into postgraduate law programmes need to read the CLAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria as mentioned below -
Candidates applying for postgraduate law programme, LLM need to possess a bachelor’s degree in law. The law degree can be of five-year integrated or three year law programme from an institution approved by Bar Council of India.
A candidates need to score at least 55 percent in his/her qualifying degree. Whereas candidates belonging to reserved categories have been give 5 percent relaxation wherein they need to score 50 percent marks in their qualifying degree of law.
CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Age criteria
As per the Supreme Court's stay on age bar in 2017, any aspirant of law can appear in the Common Law Admission Test for admissions into undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes irrespective of their age.
