CLAT PG 2016 Exam Pattern – The paper pattern of CLAT PG 2016 shall help you in drawing an overview of the post graduate common law admission test for NLUs. CLAT PG 2016 Exam Pattern details about the PG law entrance including exam mode, duration of the test, number of questions and marking scheme.

Paper Pattern of CLAT PG 2016 – Let us have a quick peek over the exam modalities of the post graduate common law admission test for NLUs –

Exam Mode – The law entrance exam for admissions to LLM programme at NLUs will be held in an online mode.

Exam Duration– You will be allotted two hours’ time duration to attempt the questions of the online paper beginning at 3:00 pm.

 

Exam Venues – The coveted post graduate law entrance exam will be conducted in a number of cities across India. We will provide you a complete list of the Test Centres / Testing Venues, once the same has been announced by CLAT 2016 Committee.

Last year, the coveted PG law entrance was conducted in as many as 173 exam centres of 52 cities of India, which included 7 cities of Uttar Pradesh, Amritsar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Imphal, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi and Vishakhapatnam.

 

Number of Questions – The online paper of CLAT PG 2016 will comprise of a total of 150 questions of objective nature type/Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

Total Marks – The 150 question of online CLAT PG 2016 will carry maximum marks of 150, where each question shall be of 1 mark.

 

Marking Scheme – There shall be four options provided against each of the questions. You will be required to mark the most appropriate option among the four proveded.

While every correct answer shall be awarded one mark, for every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks each will be deducted from the total scored marks following a system of negative marking.

Subjects – The 150 questions of online paper of CLAT PG 2016 will be distributed among the following sections –

  • Constitutional Law

  • Jurisprudence

  • Other law subjects including Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Family Law, Property Law, Intellectual Property Law, etc.

Subject-wise distribution of questions and marks – Each of the sections – Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Other law subjects shall comprise 50 questions.

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT PG) is the national level law PG entrance test conducted every year for shortlisting candidates for as many as 604 seats distributed among the 17 participating NLUs. Last year as many as 5514 candidates had registered for CLAT PG out of which 4863 candidates appeared for the post graduate common law admission test of NLUs.

CLAT 2020 application form for both UG and PG has been released on 1st January

And the last date to fill the online application form of CLAT 2020 is 31st March 2020.

If you want to fill the application form in online mode then you can fill it by visiting its official website i.e https:// consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2020

Steps you need to follow while filling the form are:-

  • First of all you need to visit the official website i.e https:// consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2020 and do online Registration
  • Then you need to fill your application form
  • Now, upload your documents
  • Now you need to make payment of application fee
  • Finally you need to take a print out of confirmation page

i scored 49 % in B.A.LLB and i am ST can i apply for CLAT

A ST category candidate need to score at least 50% marks in the graduation. But as you have obtained 49% marks, you are not eligible to write CLAT PG Exam. Any candidate who doesn't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria will not be given admission.

The eligibility criteria of CLAT 2020 for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate courses are different from those required for undergraduate courses. Check the points below to find out whether you meet the prescribed CLAT eligibility criteria for LLM program.

  • Qualifying exam: Aspirants applying for admission to the LLM program needs to hold a valid bachelor’s degree in law or any equivalent exam. Both five-year integrated and three-year law degrees are accepted.

  • Marks in qualifying marks: Aspirants need to score at least 55% in the qualifying degree. SC/ST category candidates will be granted 5% relaxation in minimum marks.

  • Age limit: Like in CLAT UG, there is no age limit for appearing in CLAT 2020 for PG program as well.
