Start preparing for CLAT with Mock Test
This section informs the candidates about the format and type of questions that will be asked in CLAT 2020. Candidates are further given important guidelines on how they should attempt a question which include the following.
Candidates are advised to read the paragraph carefully and understand the broad theme mentioned.
Give close attention to the wordings of the questions
In the legal aptitude and logical aptitude section, principle fact based questions will not be asked separately. Rather, principles will be mentioned in the paragraph. Similarly, the facts will be mentioned either in paragraphs or will be given with the questions. Identify the facts and principles and try to simplify them by breaking down into simple parts.
Words like ‘OR’ and ‘AND’ impose some conditions and can change the meaning of a statement considerably. Hence, pay close attention to such words while answering a question. Also, give close attention to the small changes to the facts and principles.
The quantitative technique section will also be based on comprehension passage and candidates will have to read the paragraph and apply the analytical ability to solve the questions. There may be some graphical information based on which candidates will have to answer the questions.
Read newspapers and magazines.
Read the editorial and opinion section as the comprehension passage will be taken from such sources.
The newspapers and magazines will also help in preparing general knowledge and current affairs.
Practice grammar from any good 10th standard books and also refer to Wren and Martin’ English grammar and composition.
For legal aptitude also read the opinion and editorial section, read different news articles available in both print and offline media.
Use fact compendiums to make your preparation better.
The CLAT sample papers, provided by the conducting body are one of the best sources to prepare for CLAT 2020. They make the candidate familiar with the preparation. Students should attempt these papers in an environment somewhat similar to what we experience in a general exam. Analyse the result and then identify those topics, points that need to be prepared.
For quantitative ability, practice is the key. Candidates are advised to go through the 10th standard books and practice as much as they can. Solve the exercise given in them and focus on improving accuracy and speed.
Solve the previous year papers for preparing the quantitative ability. This will help in improving calculation skills.
After solving practice papers for quantitative ability, candidates should analyse the answers by going through the solution provided in the answer section.
In its preparation guide, the conducting body has also provided the illustration examples to make the candidates familiar with the test paper. The questions are given separately for each section. The format of question includes a comprehension passage along with five questions which are asked from the passage itself. The answers of all questions are also explained in a detained manner.
