LSAT India PG 2016 Exam Pattern – Pearson VUE on behalf of Law School Admission Council (LSAC) had provided exam pattern of LSAT India PG 2016. LSAT India PG Paper Pattern (Exam Pattern) 2016 details you about the PG law entrance including mode, duration, testing location, number of questions, total marks and marking scheme.

LSAC President Daniel O. Bernstine said that the pattern of LSAT India PG is altogether different from other PG law exams being conducted in India. He said, “LSAT-India is the law entrance exam which has holistic exam content, which means the exam tests logical and analytical abilities as well as reading comprehension, which LSAC assumes to be the essential skills and qualities needed to become a successful lawyer. Unlike any other law entrance exams, LSAT does not test prior legal knowledge, mathematical knowledge, grammar or current affairs.”

LSAT India PG Paper Pattern 2016 – Below is the detailed information of modalities of the PG law entrance exam of LSAT India –


Exam Mode – Pearson VUE conducted the PG law entrance exam in an offline (paper-pencil) mode.

Exam Duration – The offline paper was conducted for a maximum of 2 hours and 20 minutes. Moreover, you needed to complete each section in a time limit of 35 minutes, after which no changes or review or edit was applicable to the very section.

Exam Venues – The law school admission test for PG programmes in Indian institutes was conducted in as many as 18 cities across India. The exam was conducted in as many as 16 testing locations in the country –




Chandigarh, Delhi (NCR), Jaipur and Lucknow


Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi


Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai and Nagpur


Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Raipur and Ranchi

Number of Questions – The PG law entrance exam of LSAT India comprised 92-100 questions.

Total Marks – No such definite marks had been allotted to LSAT India PG 2016. However, the test scoring is done on percentile basis where each candidate’s performance is compared to that of others. The maximum percentile may be100 for total number of questions.

Marking Scheme – As per LSAT India PG Marking Scheme, no marks would be deducted for any wrong question marked as LSAT India PG 2016 did not follow negative marking policy. Moreover, your total marks would be calculated on the basis of total questions marked correctly, therefore, it was advised not to leave any question unanswered.

Subjects – LSAT India PG 2016 comprised questions majorly from three sections – Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. The Logical Reasoning Section was further classified into two parts – Logical Reasoning I (LR I) and Logical Reasoning II (LR II).

Subject-wise distribution of Questions – Each of the four sections comprised an approximate number of 24-25 questions. The below graphical would help you in understanding the subject-wise distribution of questions in a better way –
