LSAT India Scholarship - The Law School Admission Council (LSAC), which administers the LSAT India exam offers two scholarships for the test takers. These are - The LSAT India Topper Scholarship and "the Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship". Both the scholarship will cover tuition and halls of residence fees for the first year of a law programme at an LSAC Global Law Alliance college, up to a maximum of INR 4 lakh.

The scholarships are part of LSAC's new initiatives in India to help ensure that law colleges are accessible to everyone. The LSAT India scholarships are reserved for candidates appearing in the online LSAT India 2021 examination, which is being conducted in two phases - March administration and June administration.
The details of LSAT India 2021 scholarships are explained in detail below.
LSAT India Topper Scholarship
This will award up to INR 4 lakh to the 2021 LSAT—India Scholar — the student who achieves the maximum marks out of all candidates who appear for both March and June 2021 LSAT—India. This is being awarded for the third year in a row.
Scholarship amount: INR 4 lakhs
Eligibility: The LSAT India 2021 Topper Scholarship will be presented to the student who obtains the highest score in the test.
- The scholarship is for Indian citizens only
- The applicant must be enrolled in a 5-year law program at an LSAC Global Law Alliance college
- The award winner mustn't accept any other scholarship.
If two or more candidates obtain the same scores, the award winner will be decided by a draw of lots.
Number of students to be awarded: 1
How to apply for LSAT India Topper Scholarship: All LSAT India test-takers will be automatically considered for the scholarship, and there is no need to apply separately.
The LSAT India Topper Scholarship 2021 will cover tuition and halls of residence fees for the first year of the programme, up to the maximum amount allocated. Any unutilised amount will be rolled over to the next year of law college.
The Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship
The last date to participate for Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship is June 1, 2021.
Overview -LSAC had introduced Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship in the previous administration of LSAT India. Keeping the same in mind, LSAC has introduced this scholarship for the second time for the current administration. Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship will be based on an essay competition. The winner of the essay competition will be eligible for the scholarship. Similar to the LSAT India topper scholarship, the SBAJ Scholarship also covers tuition and halls of residence fees for the first year of a law programme at an LSAC Global Law Alliance College.
Scholarship amount: INR 4 lakhs. Any unutilised amount from the first year can be rolled over to the subsequent year.
Who can apply:
- The candidate must have appeared in the LSAT-IndiaTM 2021.
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate must have successfully completed the senior secondary school or 10 + 2 equivalent exam from a recognized board in India.
- The candidate must be eligible for admission into an LSAC Global Law Alliance College that accepts LSAT India 2021 scores.
- The candidate will be admitted to a full-time 5 (five) year law programme.
Details of Essay
Topic - Theeffect of Artificial Intelligence on Diversity in the Legal Profession.
Candidates may argue for or against the claim given below.
Claim: "The introduction of artificial intelligence tools in the legal profession mitigates bias, increases access to justice, and promotes diversity in society".
Important note -
- Each participant will have to submit an essay on the given topic.
- ACo-authorship of essays is not allowed. All essays must be submitted individually.
- Length of the essay: Maximum word limit for the essay is 1200 words.
Format of the essay: The essay should be readable by MS Word, double spaced, 1-inch margins, and, Times New Roman Font with font size 12. The applicant must also submit a cover page separately with the essay title and their contact information.
How to send essay? -The essay must be emailed to email@example.com with the subject line - ‘Diversity Essay’. The last date of submission is June 1, 2021 (Till 24:00 hours Indian Standard Time).
What parameters will be judged in the essay: The essay will be evaluated for quality and clarity of writing, persuasiveness, and degree of insight into the issue under discussion.
Can a student receive both this scholarship and the Topper Scholarship?
No. The candidate can receive only one of the scholarships.
What will happen to the essay submitted by the applicant?
LSAC Global will gain copyright over the essay and publish it on DiscoverLaw.in. Further, it may also be printed in a legal publication or blog.

A brief about LSAT India
In view of the nationwide lockdown, LSAT India 2021 will be conducted in online remote proctored mode, assisted by AI technology. The exam session of the candidate will be captured via the webcam connected to the computer system.
LSAT India scores will be used by associated colleges and other law schools for admission to courses like BA LLB, BBA LLB, B Com LLB, BSc LLB, three-year LLB and LLM courses. Some of the important participating institutes of LSAT India 2021 are listed below.

Candidates appearing in LSAT India 2021 seeking admission into five-year integrated law program should have qualified 12th board examination under 10+2 education system scoring minimum 45% marks.
So if you satisfy the above eligibility criteria then you can appear for LSAT India 2021 irrespective of your percentage in graduation.

can any one pls tell me the last date for laat actually there are two last date coming which I am not getting
The application process for LSAT India 2021 was started on November 10, 2020. Candidates who will complete application process by February 5 will be given an early bird prize wherein they need to pay Rs 3,499 for the application fee.
Aspirants who submit their application form for LSAT India 2021 between February 5 and June 4, need to pay Rs 3,799 for the application fee.
Candidates have to fill the application form latest by June 4, 2021.

There are over 52 associate or participating institutes of LSAT India 2021 that will use LSAT India 2021 scores for admission; courses on offer include BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB, BSc LLB, three-year LLB and LLM. Interestingly, the role of LSAC is limited to conduct of LSAT India 2021 entrance exam and sharing of exam scores with participating institutes. The candidate will have to apply separately to these colleges, who will use LSAT India scores to shortlist candidates. They will prepare merit lists for counselling and seat allotment considering marks scored by the candidates in the remote proctored exam.
While LSAC is responsible for the conduct of LSAT India 2021 entrance exam, it doesn’t specify any eligibility criteria for the exam. It is because its role is limited to conduct of the exam declaration of results and sharing of exam scores with participating institutes. It is the LSAT India participating institutes 2021 that will release institute-specific eligibility criteria for admission.

3-year LLB program: The candidate should have completed graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
5-year integrated law program: Candidates must have completed class 12 from a recognized board or institution.
