How to get admissions to top law colleges in Uttar Pradesh?
All three featured law colleges of UP give admissions on the basis of entrance exams that are either conducted at the national level or at the university level. The details of the admission process, intake, courses are explained below.
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University - Courses, Seats and Admission process
The university offers BA LLB and LLM programmes. A total of 160 seats are offered under BA LLB programme while 24 seats are available in the LLM programme.
For admission to the university, the candidate must clear the Common Law Admission Test which is conducted by the CLAT Consortium on a yearly basis. The CLAT 2020 is a national level law entrance test which is conducted for both undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. The test is conducted in offline mode and descriptive, comprehension type questions are asked in the examination. To prepare for CLAT UG, candidates need to excel in subjects like the English language, Mathematics, Legal aptitude and Logical reasoning. Aligarh Muslim University - Courses, Seats and Admission process
Aligarh Muslim Univesity also offers BA LLB and LLM programmes. Under the BA LLB programme, the university offers 240 seats, while under the LLM programme, the university has an intake of 35 seats. AMU conducts its own law entrance examination, AMU Entrance Examination for BA LLB and LLM. The AMU BA LLB is conducted in pen and paper mode. Candidates are asked 100 objective type questions from topics like general knowledge, current affairs, maths and legal aptitude. For admissions to the LLM programme, the test consists of questions from different subjects of law that are taught at graduate level.

Banaras Hindu University - Courses, Seats and Admission process
Ranked as 19th best law university under NIRF ranking 2020 of law colleges, BHU offers various law courses namely - 3-year LLB, 5-year LLB at undergraduate level and 1-year LLM and 2-year LLM programmes at postgraduate level. The university offers 300 seats under 3-year LLB programme and 60 seats under 5-year LLB course. At the LLM level, a total of 73 seats are offered for the students.
BHU gives admissions on the basis of entrance exams - BHU UET (for 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB) and BHU PET(For admissions to LLM programmes). To get admissions to law programmes of BHU, candidates need to appear in the entrance tests like BLAT and BHU LLB.
