What is a PSU?
PSU or the Public Sector Undertaking as termed is the public sector enterprise (or organisation) owned by the Union Government or either a state or a territorial government or both. In a PSU, a majority of the paid share capital (51 percent or more) is held wholly by the Union Government or by a State Government or partly by the central government and partly by one or more State Governments. A PSU has its own recruitment procedure, which recruits for both technical and non-technical positions.
The PSUs notify vacant positions of legal advisors and selections against these vacancies are based on CLAT scores. Candidates need to apply for the vacant positions in each of the PSUs individually after which the organisations will announce their merit lists based on the scores of the law entrance examination.
Candidates can check here the eligibility criteria before filling in application form of PSU recruitment. While each Public Sector Undertaking will have its own eligibility criteria, candidates need to go through each of the PSUs notification to know the conditions required before applying for the legal advisors’ positions. However, in common you need to be an LL.B graduate (passed out from either three-year or five-year integrated law programmes) securing a minimum percentage of marks as specified by the PSUs. Apart from these, the candidate should also be appearing in CLAT 2019 and secure qualifying marks in the law admission test. Each of the PSUs will have its own age criteria too while recruiting through CLAT 2019.
Candidates can apply for PSUs’ recruitment through the official links available in this page. The application form for Executive Trainee (Law)/Legal Advisors can also be downloaded through the official links. Candidate should fill only one application form for the recruitment as Legal Advisors in each of the PSUs; else their candidature may get cancelled in case of multiple applications.
The selection process for Executive Legal Trainees in PSUs through CLAT will be done on marks secured by the test takers. Based on CLAT 2019 scores, candidates will be called in for further selection rounds, which include interview and group discussion process. Moreover, candidates need to note, while some of the PSUs accept last year’s score of CLAT, others may not; hence it is advised to check the selection process of PSUs individually through the official links provided in this page.

NUSRL, Ranchi will officially release CLAT syllabus tentatively during the 3rd or last weeks of December 2019. But based on previous years' syllabus, this answer is being written. CLAT LLM syllabus has various sections such as Constitutional Law, Law of Torts, International Law, Jurisprudence, Intellectual Property law, Law of Contracts and Criminal Law. Constitutional law refers to the rights states and implemented in the Federal and State Constitutions. Law of Torts in common law jurisdictions is a civil wrong that causes a claimant to suffer loss or harm resulting in legal liability for the person who is accused of committing the act.
Now Constitutional laW carries 50 marks and so books by VN Shukla, Brij Kishore Sharma and JN Pandey are must reads.
For Jurisprudence, books by VD Mahajan and Mani Tripathi are the best in the market. This is a tough subject, carries 50 marks and so try checking guides available on this subject in the local book stores as well.
For the rest of the subjects, followclat ll Singhal's solved CLAT papers and gather as much information as possible from Internet for your preparation
