About CLAT 2020

National University of Study And Research In Law (NUSRL), Ranchi will conduct CLAT 2020 in offline mode tentatively on May 1, 2020.  CLAT 2020 will be held at around 40 centres around the country for admitting candidates to undergraduate law programs offered by the 21 participating NLUs. The total seat intake for UG programs at the NLUs is around 2500. The application form of CLAT 2020 will be released on January 1; candidates will have around 3 months time to submit the application form. The admit card of CLAT 2020 will be released around the 2nd week of May. 

The CLAT consortium has, on November 21, announced a slew of changes in the exam pattern for the new session, including reducing the number of questions to 120-150 from 200. Also, comprehension-based questions will be asked from Quantitative Techniques, English, Current Affairs, Deductive Reasoning and Logical Reasoning. The reduction in number of questions is done to reduce the mental stress on candidates, explained Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor, NALSAR . Also, the inclusion of comprehension based questions is aimed at attracting candidates with competence in reading texts and demonstrated skills in inferential reasoning. 

CLAT 2020 result will be declared around 2nd week of June 2020. Also, apart from the 21 participating NLUs, 52 private universities as well as DBRANLU Sonipat, Haryana, will use CLAT 2020 scores for admission purpose.

Based on CLAT 2020 scores, admission will be offered to various law programs like BA LLB, B.Sc LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com LLB, and BSW LLB. The minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in the national-level exam is a 10+2 pass scoring minimum 45% marks (relaxation in minimum marks applies to reserved categories). Also, there is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT 2020.

Eligibility requirement for UG program:

  • Qualifying exam: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam from a recognised university or board.
  • Marks in qualifying exam: General category candidates need minimum 45% marks in the qualifying exam,  while SC and ST candidates need only 40% marks.
  • Age limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT 2020
  • Candidates who are appearing in qualifying exam in March/April 2020: Such candidates may also apply, subject to the condition they produce evidence of passing the qualifying exam at time of admission.

CLAT application form 2020 will be released in online mode on January 1. When filling the CLAT 2020 application form, one must use only genuine and verifiable information; if caught sharing false information, one can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process. How to fill CLAT 2020 application form

  • Registration: The first step in the application process, the candidate has to register by entering details their name, email id, mobile number, and other details. 

  • Fill in relevant details: The application form will have various sections like personal, academic and contact details which have to be duly filled.

  • Upload documents: Scanned copies of signature, photograph and other documents in prescribed specification (refer table below) has to be uploaded.

CLAT 2020 Preparation Tips

Candidates appearing in the national-level exam could access the CLAT 2020 mock test online. There are multiple benefits of taking CLAT mock test 2020, some of which are enumerated below:

  • Mock tests contain similar type of questions to those asked in the entrance exam. So, solving these problems will help the candidate judge the difficultly level of the exam and plan accordingly.

On exam day, the applicant needs to carry with them the admit card of CLAT 2020 without fail, along with a valid photo ID proof. 

The CLAT admit card would carry such details like the name and address of the exam venue, date and time of CLAT 2020 entrance exam, and roll number of the candidate. Candidates are also advised to carefully go through all the exam day guidelines mentioned on the CLAT 2020 admit card to stay out of trouble. Keep the CLAT admit card safe until the admission process is over.

The provisional answer key of CLAT 2020 will be released within a few days of conclusion of the CLAT 2020 exam. By consulting keys given in the provisional CLAT 2020 answer key, the candidate will be able to calculate the number of questions they managed to respond correctly. Now using the official CLAT 2020 marking scheme, the candidate will be able to calculate probable score, and in turn their chances of admission (use previous years' cutoff data for the purpose). Any candidate who has any objections regarding any of the key (s) will be allowed to filed objections against within a given time-frame. Authorities after considering all such complaints will release the final answer key of CLAT 2020. The keys given in the final CLAT 2020 answer key will be considered to be the final authority or correct answers to questions asked in the exam.

The result would contain important details like the qualifying status of the candidate, section-wise and overall marks. After the declaration of the result, candidates will shortlisted for the counselling and seat allotment process.

The CLAT Cutoff 2020 is usually the minimum marks (or lowest rank) for which admissions into an NLU is offered. Mode of Counselling: Online

Candidates who have qualified in the CLAT 2020 exam will be eligible to participate in the CLAT 2020 counselling process, which will be conducted in online mode sometime in 2nd week of June 2020. All eligible candidates will be issued counselling call letters, which has to be downloaded and taken a printout of. Next the candidate has to register for CLAT counselling 2020 online by clicking on the counselling link and providing user id/ registration id and password. As part of the counselling registration, one has to enter their choices of colleges and courses. The CLAT 2020 seat allotment will be based on both the merit rank of the candidate and choices opted for admission, so one needs to bear caution and only enter the best matches.  

Another feature of the CLAT 2020 counselling and seat allotment process is document verification, wherein all candidates need to get their documents verified. Only such candidates who successfully complete the verification will be deemed eligible for allotment, while rest will be disqualified.

CLAT exam is an all india common entrance examination to get admission into UG and PG degree programs of law.you can get admission in various universities across india through this examination.the CLAT 2020 exam will be held on 10th may,2020.CLAT 2020 application  form will be available from 1st january,2020 and you can apply through online mode.application fee will be Rs.4000/- for general/obc/pwd/sap and it is Rs.3500/- for sc/st.you must qualify the class 12 board exam in order to apply for this exam.the exam will be held in offline mode.there will be a total of 120-150 mcq's (for UG) and 150 mcq's (for PG).each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark and 0.25 will be deducted for every wrong answer.the duration of exam is 2 hours and total marks is 150.the admit card will be released on 3rd week of april,2020.result will be declared on last week of may,2020.councelling process starts from 1st week of june,2020.the syllabus include the subject areas of english grammar,general knowledge and current affairs,maths,legal aptitude and logical reasoning.for pg programmes,the subject areas are constitutional law,jurisprudence and other law subjects such as criminal law,international law,contract torts,ipr.

Hi there hope you are doing great yes you are eligible for or giving clat examination in your first year of graduation. the only criteria you need to fulfil is  that you must have secured at least 45% in your class 12th examination and for SC- ST student it is 40%. hope this will help you .good luck.
