Allahabad University LLB (LAT) Exam 2023: Admit Card (Out), Dates, Application, Syllabus, Result

LAT 2023 - Allahabad University has released the AU LLB Entrance Exam result on July 3, 2023.The university had conducted the AU LLB entrance exam on June 2, 2023. Earlier, AU released the LAT application form 2023 on April 25, in online mode. The last date to apply for Allahabad University LLB was May 20. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria could apply for Allahabad University LLB 2023. The university offers a total of 975 seats through the LAT exam in which around 10,000 candidates participate every year. Admission through LAT 2023 will be based on merit cum preference criteria. The merit list is prepared on the basis of candidates' performance in the examination.

Who could apply for AU LAT 2023?

Candidates who fulfilled the LAT eligibility criteria for 2023, can apply for the examination. As per the LAT 2023 eligibility, the candidates should have completed graduation with minimum qualifying marks from a recognized university. The minimum qualifying marks are 45% for general category students and 40% for SC and ST candidates.

LAT 2023 exam comprises 150 objective-type questions. Each correct response carries 2 marks. there is no negative marking. Questions in the examination are asked from the sections mentioned below.

1) Language Comprehension 

2) General Awareness and Current Affairs

3) Reasoning, Mental Ability and 

4) Legal Aptitude.

The university and its affiliated law school will offer a combined intake of 975 seats through LAT. The number of seats in the course is 375 for the Faculty of Law (University of Allahabad), 300 for C.M.P. Degree College, and 300 for Allahabad Degree College (A.D.C.). Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the LAT exam will be called for counselling and seat allotment process which is held in multiple rounds.

Candidates appearing for the 3-year LLB admission test of Allahabad University must fulfil the LAT 2023 eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of LAT 2023 is given in terms of educational qualification and minimum qualifying marks. Any candidate who is found to be not complying with the prescribed LAT eligibility criteria,  his/her candidature can be cancelled at any stage of the admission process.

• Educational qualification - The applicant must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent institute.
• Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to appear in LAT 2023. However, such candidates will need to provide proof of qualification at the time admission or counselling process.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks - The minimum aggregate marks in the qualifying exam is 45% for general, 40% for SC/ST, and 42% for OBC categories.

Allahabad University has released the LAT application form 2023 online at the aupravesh2023 website. The application form of LAT 2023 is released for admission to 3-year LLB program offered by the university. Candidates could submit their complete application forms before the last date. 

It is recommended that candidates use only genuine and verifiable information when filling out the LAT application form, as use of false and misleading information can lead to disqualification.

• Mark sheets of 10th and 12th class  

• Date of birth certificate as proof of age

How to fill LAT application form 2023?

• Registration - Click on the registration link to access the registration form. Enter details like name, mobile number, valid email id and other details as requested to create an applicant account. 

• Fill the form: Log-in to the newly created applicant account and fill in academic, personal and academic details, etc. 

• Pay the application fee: The candidate has to next pay the application fee of Rs. 800 (SC/ST/PH candidates need to pay only Rs. 400) in online mode. 

• Submit the form: After paying the fee, submit the form and take a printout of the completed application form.

Important Notes

• Those filling the application form while also appearing in the qualifying exam must note that they have to complete the graduation with minimum marks before the counselling and seat allotment process. Such candidates will need to show the passing certificate at the time of admission, failing which, their candidature will be cancelled.

• NRIs, Foreign Nationals, or those who have graduated from foreign universities do not have to fill the application form. The university will conduct a separate admission and application process for such candidates of which the details will be communicated by the Faculty of Law. 

• Candidates should fill in all the details in the application form and support it with the requisite documents. Incomplete applications will be outrightly rejected.

• First, become familiar with the LAT exam pattern and syllabus. The exam pattern will tell the candidate how to prepare, for instance, since LAT includes objective type questions, so one should focus more on objective questions rather than getting stuck on subjective questions during exam preparation. Meanwhile, the syllabus will tell what to prepare and what to ignore.
• The candidate may mark topics, say, as important, neutral and less important, as this will enable him or her to invest their energies on scoring topics. 
• Regular practice and revision is the key, so integrate them into your process. Divide the course into a certain number of blocks, and assign a specific time period to each of the blocks. Try to follow the time-table. Also, do timely revision. 
• Practice last years' question papers. Take mock-test sessions wherein you finish a question paper within the same time duration as that of the exam. Many candidates mistake simply skimming through the sample papers instead of practising them. But, solving these question papers will not only teach candidates how to solve tricky questions but will also habituate them to the pattern, which can aid in time management.

The admit card of LAT 2023 is an important document for sitting in the entrance exam, it carries vital details like the name and roll number of the candidate, date and time of the exam, and exam name and address.

Allahabad University has declared the result of LAT 2023 in online mode on July 3, 2023. The university has announced the LAT 2023 result in form of a scorecard which can be downloaded using the registration portal.

How to check LAT 2023 Result?

• Visit the AU Pravesh website for LAT 2023

• Select LLB programme

•  Login at the candidate portal using the enrollment number and password.

• The LAT result would be displayed on the screen in pdf format

• Download and take a print out of the LAT result.

The admission of candidates to the three-year L.L.B programme will be on the basis of the merit rank of the candidate, which will be prepared using LAT 2023 scores. Note that only such candidates who qualify in the exam will be eligible to participate in the LAT 2023 counselling process: 

LAT 2023 - Minimum Qualifying Marks 

To qualify the LAT exam, candidates must score the minimum qualifying exam. However, this doesn't mean that candidate will be offered admission. Those securing equal or more than minimum qualifying exam will be considered for preparing merit list. The final shortlisting will be done on the basis of merit cum preference. The category wise LAT minimum marks are given below.

Mode of Counselling: Offline

Allahabad University will conduct LAT 2023 counselling in online mode. LAT qualified candidates included in the merit or counselling cut off list will have to attend the counselling session compulsorily to finalize their admissions into the university’s three-year L.L.B programme. 

Candidates shortlisted for counselling of LAT are informed through the counselling cut off list. Those securing more marks than the LAT cut off have to participate in the counselling process by registering for the same.

In case of offline counselling, candidates must be physically present at the specified counselling venue on the specified date and time along with all the requisite documents. 

Documents Required at the time of Counselling 

• LAT admit card 2023
• Print out of LAT result and score ards 

• Qualifying degree examination mark sheet and certificate. 

• Date of Birth proof or 10th class passing certificate 

• Photocopy of the final LAT application form

• Caste certificate for reserved categories 

• Documents as evidence supporting the candidate’s claims to a particular category, sports, NCC, PH quota 

• Any other document as asked in the call letter or notification.

Important notes 

• Candidates who physically attend the counselling session, fulfil all the eligibility criteria, furnish the requisite documents, and successfully undergo the document verification procedure will be allotted a seat in the university for the three-year L.L.B programme. 

• Those candidates who are found to be not eligible for admissions on the counselling day will be denied admissions.

• After the counselling round, candidates have to submit the fees and fulfil other admission-related procedures to finalize their admissions into the university.
