About MHCET Law 2023
MH CET Law 2023 - The CET Cell Maharashtra has published the final merit list for MH CET 3 year LLB on August 14, 2023. It has also started the choice filling for fourth round of MH CET 5 year LLB from August 11 to August 16, 2023. Earlier the CET Cell Maharashtra had released the third round final merit list for MH CET 5-year LLB courses on August 03 and seat allocation for this round was done on August 05. The State CET Cell is currently conducting the MH CET Law counselling for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB courses. Candidates who have a non-zero CET score can appear in the counselling by registering at CAP portal. The MH CET 3-year LLB 2023 was held on May 2 and May 3 whereas, the 5-year LLB entrance exam was conducted on April 20, in online mode. Candidates seeking admission to 5-year integrated LLB and 3-year LLB programmes offered by the law colleges in Maharashtra must have a valid score in MH CET Law 2023. The CET scores are accepted by over 140 law colleges/universities in the state.
What is MH CET Law exam?
Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law or MH CET Law is a state-level law entrance exam in Maharashtra. State CET Cell, Maharashtra conducts MH CET law for admission to 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes offered by the law colleges in the state of Maharashtra. A total of 147 law colleges accept MH CET law scores. These colleges offer around 10,860 seats in 5-year LLB programmes and 16,240 seats in 3-year LLB.

MHCET Law MAH-LLB (5 Years) Eligibility Criteria
The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra prescribes the MHCET law eligibility criteria 2023 for 5-year LLB programmes offered by various law colleges. The MHCET law 2023 eligibility criteria cover the minimum conditions one needs to fulfill before filling out the application form.
MH CET law eligibility criteria 2023 - 5-year integrated law :
- Qualifying exam : The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam (including 3-year diploma in engineering)
- Minimum marks : Maharashtra state candidates needs to secure a minimum aggregate of: 45% - General category, 40% - SC/ST, 42% - VJ / DT / NT(A) / NT / O.B.C./ S.B.C. category.
- Others : Candidates who have passed senior secondary or obtained a first-degree certificates through distance education or correspondence method are also eligible for admission.
MHCET Law MAH-LLB (3 Years) Eligibility Criteria
In case of candidates applying for admission to 3-year LLB course, the following eligibility conditions are mandated.

The application process of MH CET Law has been closed for both 3 year LLB and 5 year LLB. The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra had reopened the application window for 3-year LLB from April 19 to 20, 2023. The application form was released on March 15, 2023. Whereas, the CET application form submission date for MH CET 5-year LLB 2023 has been closed on March 23.
MH CET law 2023 application forms for 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB are released at cetcell.mahacet.org. Such candidates who meet the MHCET law eligibility criteria 2023 may go ahead and fill out the application form before the last date.
Use only genuine and verifiable information for filling the MH CET law 2023 application form:
- Exam officials verify every piece of data entered by the candidate at the time of MH CET law 2023 counselling process; note that document verification is a part of the counselling process.
- Candidates who clear the document verification process are eligible for participation in the next stage of the admission process, like seat allotment.
- However, if a candidate is caught fudging date, he/she will be disqualified.
How to fill MHCET law 2023 application form?
- Registration - The first step in the MHCET law 2023 application process is registration, wherein the candidate will have to create an applicant account. In the MHCET law registration form, enter your name, father's name, mother's name, contact details and other personal details. On successfully entering the information, a new account will be created with a unique login id.
- Uploading the documents - The candidate will have to next upload a photo and signature as per the specification outlined in the table below.

Difficulty level of MH CET Law 2023
The online, computer-based MH CET law 2023 for 5-year LLB will be of intermediate level. Questions in the maths section will be of Class 10 level, while, in the remaining sections, candidates will be expected to demonstrate a decent level of knowledge and awareness.

Any candidate who plans to take the state-level exam should consult the MHCET law 2023 exam pattern which will not only provide direction but also key insights to ace the exam.
Take for instance, as per the MH CET law exam pattern, the question paper will include objective-type questions only. So, one mustn't waste time trying to handle subjective-type questions. Also, note while the duration of the test is 120 minutes, there are 150 questions, which comes out to less than 1 minute per question. Given the scenario is not enough to simply able to solve a problem, but to do it fast, or else time would run out.

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra released the admit card of MHCET law 5-year LLB 2023 on April 14. The MH CET 3-year LLB admit card was issued on April 29.
The MHCET law admit card 2023 is a mandatory document that the candidate has to carry with them on the day of the exam along with a valid photo id proof. Mode of Counselling: Online
The State CET Cell, Maharashtra is currently conducting the MH CET law counselling for 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB courses. For third round of 5-year LLB counselling, the final merit list has been published on August 03. Wheras, MH CET 3-year LLB college choice filling has is currently open till August 07.
All candidates who have a non-zero CET score in MH CET Law exam can register for counselling and seat allotment. Candidates will be allotted seats in law colleges on the basis of merit cum preference. Here are the simple steps for MH CET Law counselling.
- CAP Registration: MH CET law CAP registration is mandatory for appearing in counselling. Only such candidates who register for the counselling will be included in the merit list and considered for seat allotment.
- Issue of merit numbers: Candidates who are shortlisted for counselling will be issued merit numbers.
- Choice filling: Candidates who have been issued merit numbers will be invited for choice filling and locking. As part of the choice-filling process, candidates will need to pick their choice of institutions before the start of CAP Round-I and CAP Round II. All entries should be in the order of priority.
- Options entered before CAP Round I will be the basis for seat allotment in CAP Round-I and II.
- Note that the choice-filling option will be activated again before CAP Round III, which will be the basis for seat allotment in the round.
- MH CET seat allotment 2023: The allotment of seats will be made after each CAP Round taking into account the merit rank and choices entered by the candidate.
- Document verification: Upon allotment of seats, the candidate has to accept the seat, pay the acceptance fee through candidate log-in.

Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra prescribes the eligibility criteria for MH CET law while announcing the admissions. The candidate needs to qualify for their 10+2 level with minimum marks. For different categories the minimum score is different.
