TS LAWCET Exam 2023 : Counselling (Started), Result, Application Form, Eligibility, Syllabus

Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has published seat allotment for TS LAWCET counselling 2023 on November 30, 2023. Candidates can check their allotment by logging in with the hall ticke number and rank. Shortlisted candidates will have to report to the allotted college between December 1 and December 6. Earlier it had closed web options filling on November 27. The registration for TS LAWCET 2023 counselling was closed on November 23, 2023.

The TS LAWCET 2023 counselling is being held in online mode. Registered candidates can exercise choice filling and obtain seat allotment as per their ranks and college preference.  Earlier, the TS LAWCET result 2023 was announced on June 15, 2023. Osmania University conducted the TS LAWCET 2023 exam on May 25, 2023, in online mode. A total of 43,692 candidates appeared for the exam which was held in 64 centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

TS LAWCET 2023 exam - Overview

TS LAWCET is a state-level law entrance examination of Telangana. It is conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE). TS LAWCET exam is conducted every year for admission to 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes offered by several law colleges in Telangana. TS LAWCET is conducted in test centres spread across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. 

TS LAWCET Exam Details

Candidates preparing for TS LAWCET exam should familiarise themselves with the TS LAWCET exam pattern. The entrance test is conducted for 1 hour and 30 minutes duration. The question paper of TS LAWCET exam comprises 120 objective-type questions to be asked from subjects such as English, general knowledge, and legal aptitude.  

Currently, there are around 3,597 seats for the 3-year programme and approximately 1,580 seats for the 5-year integrated programmes. 5-year integrated LLB programmes include BA LLB, BBA LLB, and B.Com LLB.

Candidates who wish to appear for TS LAWCET 2023 exam must learn about the eligiblity criteria specified by the authorities. The TS LAWCET eligbility criteria 2023 has been released by the exam conducting body. Only those applicants who meet the TS LAWCET 2023 eligibility criteria will be considered for admission. TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Relaxation in minimum marks : 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC and ST categories.

Nationality : Indian nationals who meet local/unreserved status as required by Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 and any amendments made thereto are eligible to apply.

Mode of Payment : Net Banking | Credit Card | Debit Card | Other

The TS LAWCET 2023 application window has been closed for UG and PG law programmes. The TS LAWCET application form was extended again till April 29, 2023. It was available online at the official admission portal. Candidates could submit their TS LAWCET application form 2023 by registering themselves.  

Candidates who submitted the application after the first deadline were required to pay late fee, starting with Rs. 500, which will go up to as much as Rs. 4,000. No application form will be accepted after May 12, 2023. 

Make it a point to use only genuine and verifiable information, as anyone found using counterfeit information stand to be disqualified.

How to fill TS LAWCET application form 2023

1. Pay the application fee - The first step in the TS LAWCET application process is the payment of the application fee. Online payments can be made using: net banking, and credit or debit cards. Another option is to visit a TS - AP centre, which are online centres operated by the authorities at various locations, and make the payment.

2. Check payment status: Upon payment of the fee, check your fee payment status. If payment is successful, move to the next step. 

3. Registration - Fill in the registration form and create an applicant account.

4. Fill the form - In this step, enter your personal, academic, and contact details and finally submit the form.

TS LAWCET 2023 correction window

The university will open the correction window for TS LAWET application form 2023 from May 04 to May 10, 2023. During this period, candidates will be allowed to edit certain details in their application form. These include qualifying examination details,  local area status, annual Income of the parents, address for correspondence, e-mail id, gender, Aadhaar card details etc.

For any other changes such as qualifying hall ticket number, name, parents' name, mobile number, signature, or photograph, candidates will have to make a written request to the convenor of TS LAWCET 2023 through an email ID. Such emails must be sent to convener.lawcet@tsche.ac.in along with the scanned documents.

Application Fees

Among the first things, a candidate who is appearing in the state-level exam ought to do is consult the TS LAWCET exam pattern 2023. 2. Language : Available in (a) English and Telugu, or (b) English and Urdu.

3. Test duration : 90 minutes.

4. Total questions : 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs); each question will have four answer options, out of which one will be the correct option.

5. Marking scheme : 1 mark for a correct question; there is no negative marking

The exam conducting body has released the TS LAWCET 2023 admit card on May 16, 2023. To download the TS LAWCET admit cards 2023, the candidate has to go to the official portal, click on hall ticket link and then log in using candidate credentials.

An important document for taking the online exam, the admit card carry such details like the name, roll number, date and time of exam, and TS LAWCET 2023 exam centre name and address. In addition, it also carries exam-day guidelines to be followed by the candidate.

• Go to the official website and click on the relevant link
• A login window will open
• Enter your date of birth, registration number and application number
• On successful login, the TS LAWCET 2023 admit card will appear on screen

Precautions to be taken after or before downloading the TS LAWCET admit card

1. Check that the details mentioned on it are correct. If there is any discrepancy, like the name is incorrectly spelt, TS LAWCET 2023 test centre is incorrectly allotted, in such scenario contact admission officials to get it addressed immediately.
2. The admit card will have TS LAWCET 2023 exam-day guidelines, like what items are and are not allowed, proper exam-day behaviour, and COVID-related nitty grittiness that one needs to follow.
3. Document checklist : In addition to the TS LAWCET admit card 2023, the candidate must also carry with them a valid photo id proof.

Osmania University has released the preliminary TS LAWCET 2023 answer key on May 29, 2023. By using the answer key of TS LAWCET 2023, candidates will be able to calculate their marks. The answer key is released along with the TS LAWCET objection filing form. Candidates who have objections against the official answer key will be able to raise their objections online.

How to download TS LAWCET answer key 2023?

• Visit the TS LAWCET 2023 admission portal

• Click on the response sheet/answer key link.

• Enter your registration ID and password to log in to the answer key portal.

• The TS LAWCET answer key will be displayed on the screen; download the key in PDF form and calculate your answers.

To count the TS LAWCET marks, candidates should add one mark for each correct answer. There is no negative marking in the examination, so no marks need to be deducted for incorrect answers.

Osmania University has declared the result of TS LAWCET 2023 on its admission portal - lawcet.tsche.ac.in on June 15. TS LAWCET results have been announced in the form of individual rank cards, containing such information as the TS LAWCET rank 2023, sectional and overall marks obtained by the candidate in the exam. Additionally, the TS LAWCET 2023 rank card also carries the qualifying status of the candidate; those who qualify in the exam will only be eligible to participate in subsequent TS LAWCET counselling and seat allotment process.

TS LAWCET 2023 Qualifying Marks

There are certain minimum marks (or percentage) the candidate has to secure in the TS LAWCET 2023 to qualify/pass in the exam. Such candidates who secure the minimum qualifying exam or more will be called for counselling and seat allotment, while the remaining candidates will be disqualified. The qualifying marks (percentage) is category-specific as shown in the table below:

TS LAWCET Merit List 2023

Soon after the declaration of results, admission officials prepare the TS LAWCET 2023 merit list using the marks scored by the candidate in the entrance exam. One fundamental reason for preparing the TS LAWCET merit list is to shortlist candidates for the counselling and seat allotment process. Depending on the number of seats available for various programmes, admission officials will make general and category-specific merit lists; and using these merit lists candidates will be invited for counselling. 

Typically those ranked higher in the TS LAWCET merit list 2023 get preference during the seat allotment process. 

Candidates with similar marks: How to decide the TS LAWCET merit rank  

It may happen that two or more candidates may end up securing the same marks in the state-level exam. In such an event, the ranking of such candidates will be determined in the following way:

Tie-breaking procedure

• Candidate who has a higher score in Part A will be allotted a higher rank
• Next, marks of Part B will be considered
• If tie remains, they may be bracketed together, but at the time of admission, the candidate senior in age will be given preference.

The admission conducting authority will release the category-wise TS LAWCET cutoff 2023 for all the participating colleges during the counselling. Also, the TS LAWCET 2023 cutoff will be course-specific. The cutoff would indicate the last rank for which admission is given to a course for a particular category or institute. Candidates who score below this cutoff in the chosen course (or category or institute), he/she will not be considered for admission.

The various factors on which TS LAWCET 2023 cutoff would depend include the number of applicants, their performance in the LAWCET 2023 entrance exam, number of sanctioned seats, category of the candidate, etc. If any of these parameters change, the cutoff would also automatically change.

Mode of Counselling: Offline

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has published seat allotment on November 30, 2023. Candidates can check their allotment by logging in with the hall ticke number and rank. Earlier it closed web options filling on November 27. The authorities had closed the registrations for TS LAWCET 2024 counselling on November 23. Candidates were required complete online registration for TS LAWCET counselling and pay the required fee in order to be able to exercise the web options.  

The counselling of TS LAWCET 2023 is the last stage of the admission process during which the exam officials would verify the documents and information submitted by the candidates. The candidate must get their documents verified at designated centres. Post document verification, the candidate has to participate in web counselling, during which the choice should be filled and locked. Since TS LAWCET 2023 seat allotment is based on both the merit rank of the candidate and selected options.

Candidates will have to follow the steps mentioned below to participate in the counselling.

1. Registration for web counselling and payment of counselling process fee

3. Preliminary online certificate verification by the counselling authorities
4. Exercise web options (selecting law colleges in the order of preference)
5. Seat allotment (To be announced by the authorities)
6. Download fee payment challan and joining report
7. Report to the allotted college along with original certificates for final verification, fee payment 
8. Verification of original certificates at the allotted college and commencement of classes
