Questions related to ULSAT
how is upes for law ? how much is application fee ? which has more chance to get into upes by clat score or by ulsat ?
NAAC committee which provides grades to Indian Universities as per their performance has awarded Grade ‘C’ to UPES because of its worst academic performance and this is the lowest grade awarded to any Indian university. Even a faculty of law from this caught was caught taking bribe from students for increasing their attendance is his course. But overall the faculty is fairly good. The campus is neat and clean and well maintained.
For BA LLB, BBA LLB or B com LLB , the course fees for 5 years is 16.48 lakhs. The actual fees is much more than the official tuition fees. There will also be added expenses like industrial tour, summer classes, reevaluation, direct study, corticated issue, library and other activities. Considering, the overall expenses and fees structure, this college is not at all value for money.
However, this college is at a very good location. The location of UPES is just behind Mussoorie hills. There also trekking route from UPES back gate to mussoorie with a fishing point (river) in between.
UPES Admission is based on the national level CBT entrance examination by UPES or via national level entrance exams like JEE Main, CLAT, CAT. Direct admission is also available via the board exam merit.
I hope this helps you!
I cleared ULSAT exam and i was called for GDPI process, but i didnt do well in GDPI. Will i be able to get admission in UPES.
Hello Aspirant!
As a part of ULSAT 19 counseling, the university conducts a group discussion and personal interview round. Candidates who qualify this are called for the final round of counseling and admission procedure thereafter.
As you have mentioned that you could not perform well in GD-PI round, there are still chances of getting admission there.
Past year experiences have shown that if a candidate performs well in the exam but is unable to to do well in the GD-PI , still he or she is considered for the admissions. Also it has been noticed that if there are vacant seats available with the university, then too admissions are offered irrespective of the performance in GD-PI but the first condition holds. Both the situations are practical enough to happen and increases your good chances of admission.
Hope this helps. All the best!
can i get admission in B.A LL.B without appearing in CLAT in UPES dehradun ?
Hello Chiranjeev Singh ,
UPES Dehradun Takes admission through CLAT only.
There are 17 National Law universities in India and One National Law University Delhi whcih takes admission Through AILET (All India Law Entrance Test ).
If say, I sit for CLAT this year and the admissions for NLS, Bangalore close at 145. So if I score well within that range, I get the college. As rightly pointed out in other answers, it is affected by your rank and percentile.
If you want to get into any NLU in the country your rank should be within 1000 or so. If you wish to get into one of the top 3 colleges in the country it should be within 200 or so. All this is for a general category seat.
On particular achieving marks, one earns eligibility to clear the cutoffs of Law colleges across country.
