CLAT 2015 carried one wrong question; Test-takers get 1 bonus mark
CLAT 2015 Online paper had carried a wrong question which has resulted in all test takers getting 1 bonus mark as decided by CLAT 2015 officials.
According to the Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU) which conducted CLAT 2015 on behalf of 16 National Law Universities, a question in the CLAT paper held on May 10 carried a typo error. While evaluating the question paper, the examination committee awarded 1 full mark to all test takers irrespective of their attempt to that particular question.
Careers360 spoke to CLAT 2015 Convener, Dr. J.D. Gangwar, who confirmed that 1 bonus marks was awarded to all candidates for a typo error in one question of the CLAT Paper. “In the CLAT 2015 question paper there was one question where typographical error was noticed and as per the decision of the CLAT 2015 Committee, one full mark was granted to all the candidates who have appeared in the CLAT 2015 examination,” Dr. J.D. Gangwar, Joint Registrar, RMLNLU, said.
CLAT 2015 Result was announced on May 19 late night by RMLNLU.
The CLAT 2015 had objective-type question online paper comprising a total of 200 questions with 1 mark for each correct answer. There was a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. Only one among the four options was to be marked against each question.
The 200 questions covered five sections including English including Comprehension, General Knowledge/Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.
The clarification from the CLAT authorities brings down anxiety among candidates who after the CLAT result was declared, had doubted the marking and evaluation process of the national level law entrance exam.
Dr. Gangwar, however, told Careers360 that there was no technical glitch either during the exam or during the evaluation process. “It is to clarify that there is no technical discrepancy/glitches in the CLAT evaluation process as apprehended by the candidates,” Dr. Gangwar told Careers360.
A candidate, who did not attempt a single question, was awarded one mark. This had triggered speculations on the transparency of evaluation process and social media was abuzz with CLAT takers expressing doubts on the authenticity of the CLAT results.
Commenting on the particular case where the candidate did not attempt any question and still got 1 mark, the RMLNLU Registrar said that the 1 mark was awarded to all test takers, irrespective of their attempt to the question. “The candidate in this particular case, seem to be obvious beneficiary of this decision (of awarding 1 bonus marks to all candidates),” Dr. Gangwar added.
Moreover, CLAT 2015 officials exclusively told Careers360 that they will be sending OMR Response Sheet and CLAT 2015 Answer Key on May 23 by 6 pm to every candidate in their CLAT 2015 Account who appeared for the online exam. Candidates thus can tally their CLAT 2015 OMR response sheet with the actual CLAT 2015 Answer Key. This move is being taken by the committee after the ruckus was created questioning the evaluation process.
CLAT 2015 was held on May 10 in online mode for the very first time. As per the official data of RMLNLU, as many as 39686 candidates had registered for Online CLAT 2015.

is it good to go out another city for clat preparation, because the place where I live has no facility but after I clear this exam , again I have to somewhere else for law. what to do? which city is best for clat preparation.
Well preparing for clat is also possible without coaching but it do require extra work as you will have to collect all the required materials such as notes and books by yourself, where in a coaching centre you are provided all the required materials.
However it isn't necessary to go to a different city to prepare untill and unless you are not ready. You have made a very good point here that for law college you will eventually have to go to a different city. Well if you are ready and comfortable than go for it. I will recommend you to go for delhi, as it has some of the best coaching centres and crowd is also good.
However if you are not ready to go to a different city you can also try online coaching programs. In offline coaching centres you get to interact with competitive crowd which pushes you up further to work hard however in online classes it isn't possible.
Anyways I hope you will make best decision for yourself. Hope you find it helpful.

Yes you can appear for CLAT even after completing your Graduation in BA. After completing BA programme you can apply for CLAT Entrance exam. CLAT is the national level exam for the admission to Five year integrated programme & Post Graduate law ( LLM) programme and if you have already completed your Graduation programme then you can also go for 3 Years law programme.
If you want to go for five years Integrated law programme then to apply for CLAT you should have minimum 45% in your 10+2
I am in class 11th and i have opted for humanities. i want to clear clat first and then compete the upsc exam , please tell me the right path
If you wish to give CLAT then you can take BA/LLB or BBA/LLB then after graduation you can appear for upsc . UPSC basic criteria includes graduation degree in any discipline from any recognized University. Candidate must be more than 21 years of age and the upper age limit is 32 years for general candidates. Therefore as per your interest you can do graduation in law and then give upsc after completing your graduation.
