does 12th percentage matters to get admission in dullb

Sanjanaleekha 16th Nov, 2019

Hi,

DU has 3 year LLB which you can undertake after you have completed graduation, with that being said, the admission in faculty of law is totally based on entrance exam conducted by DU and your 12th percentage don't play a part in it as long as you have scored a minimum of the passing marks in your 12th standard.

when r the application forms releasing for DuLLB and is there the course for BALLB?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 16th Nov, 2019
Hello there!

Greetings!

National Testing Agency (NTA), has released the dates for DU LLB , Registrations for the computer-based exam (CBT) will start on March 2; the late date of registration or application submission is March 31 , 2020 , DU LLB 2020 entrance exam will be conducted form June 2-9, followed by declaration of results on June 25. This exam is for admitting candidates to the 3-year post graduate law program offered by the university. To be eligible you must be in final year of graduation or have passed graduate/postgraduate exam scoring at least 50% marks in aggregate. So , DU provides only 3 year post graduate programme , it doesn't offer 5 year integrated BA llb programme, so you cannot pursue Ba llb by clearing DU llb exam.

what is the syllabus of du llb entrance exam

Kanupriya Gupta 12th Dec, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

DU LLB exam is one of the most competitive exams and is very important to earn merit. National Testing Agency or NTA conducts this exam annually. 2658 seats are available totally and the exam is of 2 hours and is conducted online. The question paper has 100 multiple choice questions which are to be answered and prepared according to the specific syllabus similar to other law exams.

The applications for this will be out by 2nd March 2020 and the last date to be submitted will in 31st March 2020. The date of the law entrance exam will be somewhere between 2nd Jun 2020 to 9th June 2020.

The eligibility criteria for the course is a 50% score in the previous graduate or postgraduate exam. People who are pursuing LLB from other colleges will not be eligible to apply for this.

There will be negative marking. For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded and for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.

The syllabus consists of 5 parts:

  1. English language comprehension
  2. Analytical abilities
  3. Mathematics
  4. Legal awareness and aptitude
  5. General Knowledge

English Language Comprehension consists of basic grammar questions like passive and active voice, antonyms, synonyms, word meaning, Fill in the blanks, Incorrect sentences, Unseen passages, Spelling error, Sentence correction, Idioms and Phrases, Odd man out, Para jumbles and One word Substitutions.

Analytical abilities consists of series, blood relations, directions, syllogisms, critical reasoning, coding-decoding, Logical puzzles, logical reasoning and analogy.

Mathematics consists of Class 10 maths which includes average, data interpretation, percentage, ratio and proportion, time and distance, basic arithmetics, number system, profit and loss, series and time and work.

Legal awareness and aptitude consists of Constitution, Legal GK, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Contract Act and recent laws passed.

GK and Current affairs have books and authors, recent events, economics, environment, general studies, geography, history, science, sports, word meanings, economics, basic social sciences, UN bodies and so on.

Some peculiar points about the previous question paper have been that the general awareness questions were less. The Legal awareness was focused on the Indian Constitution section. The Analytical Reasoning Section was difficult. English language and Maths was easy compared to the rest of the paper.

Some books you can refer to are:

  • Universal's Delhi University Law Faculty LLB Entrance Test Solved Papers (English, Paperback, Universal)
  • Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by AP Bhardwaj
