About AILET 2020

NLU Delhi has postponed AILET 2020 in view of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. The entrance exam which was scheduled to be conducted on May 03 will now be conducted on May 31, from 10:00 - 11:30 am. The online application form of AILET 2020 has commenced on January 15, 2020; the last date of application submission has also been extended from April 8 to April 30. AILET is conducted once in a year for admissions to 5-year integrated (BA LLB) and LLM law programmes offered by the institute. The BA LLB program has a seat intake capacity of 110 seats that will be filled based on AILET 2020 scores. Further, there are 10 additional seats reserved for Foreign Nationals that will be offered through direct admission based on merit. Foreign nationals are exempt fro appearing in AILET 2020. The LLM program has 70 seats that will be filled based on AILET 2020 scores, and 10 seats for foreign nationals. 

AILET 2020 exam will be conducted in offline mode and include 150 MCQs. The exam will be held across 20 cities in India.  Candidates who qualify the examination are further called for the counselling and admission procedure conducted by NLU Delhi.

NLU Delhi announces the eligibility criteria of AILET 2020 along with the application form. According to the AILET 2020 eligibility criteria, the following candidates will be considered suitable to apply for the B.A LL.B programme.

  • Candidates who have completed 10+2 with Senior Secondary System or equivalent examination from a recognized board

  • Candidates scoring minimum 50 percent marks in the qualifying examination

  • There is no age bar for candidates who wish to apply for AILET 2020 as per the Supreme Court’s stay on age bar in 2017

  • Candidates appearing for Class XII examination are also eligible to apply for AILET 2020.

The exam pattern of AILET 2020 was as follows

  • The examination will be conducted in the offline mode.
  • The language of conduct will be English
  • The examination is conducted for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes
  • 150 questions are asked for a total of 150 marks
  • Question types asked is 'Objective type'
  • Negative marking is applicable (One mark for correct answers and 0.25 will be deducted for every incorrect answer)
  • Subjects for examination are  English, General knowledge, legal aptitude, logical reasoning and elementary mathematics

The cutoff of AILET 2020 will be available online during or after counselling.   The cutoff of AILET 2020 is the minimum marks required by candidates to qualify AILET 2020. Candidates whose names feature in the cutoff list of AILET 2020 will be able to attend the AILET 2020 counselling procedure conducted at NLU Delhi. Mode of Counselling: Offline

AILET Counselling 2020 will be conducted for candidates who have qualified the AILET 2020 entrance exam for B.A LL.B. The counselling process of AILET 2020 will be conducted in offline mode. AILET 2020 counselling will be conducted at NLU Delhi campus as per the category of the candidates.

Candidates called for counselling must carry along with them the following documents

  • AILET 2020 Admit Card
  • AILET 2020 Scorecard or admission letter being issued by NLU Delhi.
  • Self-Attested copy of Marks Statement of 10th and 12th board examinations.
  • Self-Attested copy of Transfer Certificate.
  • Self-Attested copy of Character Certificate issued by the last school attended.
  • Demand Draft of Rs. 50,000 drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, National Law University Delhi’, payable at New Delhi.

Am law aspirant I have applied for clat and ailet.. If i want to apply for VIT law collage. How should I ? is lsat required? will it benifit? if my clat n ailet scores are not upto Mark? how does this process go can anyone help me

Hi,

To get admission in VIT Law School, you must have a minimum of 60 % in your 12th. It considers  CLAT, LSAT & anyother widely recognized law test as an entrance test. So you can write either of them and then fill your application for LLB course in the official website of VIT by filling the required details and submit your registration form. Then the merit screening happens based on your marks in LSAT, CLAT or any other law exam and candidates are shortlisted in that process.

see due to covid19 pandemic there is many competitive exam, board exam, university exam has post poned, so the exam will be reschedules and it depends on exam control authorities decision , so right now you need to frequently check the official website, and be update about the current news, right now there is nothing can be predicted about the exam dates.

Hey,

There is no change expected in the pattern of AILET exam for law aspirants in 2020. It is going to be the same as last year,  there will be 150 objective type or multiple choice questions. Which means, for every question, there will be four answer options. Candidates have  to mark the correct answer on the OMR sheet.
