About AILET 2020

All India Law Entrance Test also known as AILET is conducted by National Law University, Delhi for admissions to 5-year integrated (BA LLB) and LLM law programmes offered by the institute. Each programme has an intake capacity of 70 seats. AILET 2020 exam will be conducted in offline mode and include 150 MCQs. The exam will be held across 20 cities in India. The application form of AILET 2020 will open sometime in the 1st week of January; tentative last date of application submission is 2nd week of April. Candidates who qualify the examination are further called for the counselling and admission procedure conducted by NLU Delhi.

NLU Delhi announces the eligibility criteria of AILET 2020 along with the application form. According to the AILET 2020 eligibility criteria, the following candidates will be considered suitable to apply for the B.A LL.B programme.

  • Candidates who have completed 10+2 with Senior Secondary System or equivalent examination from a recognized board

  • Candidates scoring minimum 50 percent marks in the qualifying examination

  • There is no age bar for candidates who wish to apply for AILET 2020 as per the Supreme Court’s stay on age bar in 2017

  • Candidates appearing for Class XII examination are also eligible to apply for AILET 2020.

  • AILET 2020 Application form will be released online.
  • Candidates have to fill and submit completed application forms before the deadline.
  • While filling the application form, one needs the following - a valid email-id, a valid mobile number, scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  • The application fee could be submitted in both online and offline modes.
  • The application fee is different for different categories.
  • Candidates has to first register before moving to the application filing process.

The exam pattern of AILET 2020 was as follows

  • The examination will be conducted in the offline mode.
  • The language of conduct will be English
  • The examination is conducted for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes
  • 150 questions are asked for a total of 150 marks
  • Question types asked is 'Objective type'
  • Negative marking is applicable (One mark for correct answers and 0.25 will be deducted for every incorrect answer)
  • Subjects for examination are  English, General knowledge, legal aptitude, logical reasoning and elementary mathematics

The Admit Card of AILET 2020 will be available in online mode around last week of April 2020. Candidates can find the following details on the AILET 2020 admit card

The cutoff of AILET 2020 will be available online during or after counselling.   The cutoff of AILET 2020 is the minimum marks required by candidates to qualify AILET 2020. Candidates whose names feature in the cutoff list of AILET 2020 will be able to attend the AILET 2020 counselling procedure conducted at NLU Delhi. Mode of Counselling: Offline

AILET Counselling 2020 will be conducted for candidates who have qualified the AILET 2020 entrance exam for B.A LL.B. The counselling process of AILET 2020 will be conducted in offline mode. AILET 2020 counselling will be conducted at NLU Delhi campus as per the category of the candidates.

Candidates called for counselling must carry along with them the following documents

  • AILET 2020 Admit Card
  • AILET 2020 Scorecard or admission letter being issued by NLU Delhi.
  • Self-Attested copy of Marks Statement of 10th and 12th board examinations.
  • Self-Attested copy of Transfer Certificate.
  • Self-Attested copy of Character Certificate issued by the last school attended.
  • Demand Draft of Rs. 50,000 drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, National Law University Delhi’, payable at New Delhi.

Hello dear aspirant.

As of now you will be facing a great problem at the time of admission because they can't allow a failed candidate. Yes in eligibility criteria you will find that only +2 passed is required. But it will be not sufficient when you go for admission.

how much extra time is given to pwd students in CLAT and AILET?

Dear Sonu, Candidates with PWD can opt for Scribes. Scribes are those who assist PWD Candidates in writing the exam. The scribe will read out the question for the Candidate and the Candidate will give the answer and the scribe has to mention that as the answer. These scribes are used for visually imparied, Candidates with cerebral palsy, with locomotor disabilities and whose speed or writing or using a mouse is affected. And there is a compensatory time of 20 minutes allotted in additional for every 1 hour of exam duration. So for CLAT, there is 40 minutes of additional time that is allotted.

Some tips which can help you to prepare for your LLB entrance :

1. You can solve the mock tests provided in this link, they are very benificial as they help you to practice and increases your knowledge as well. 2. You can refer to exam expert on Legal aptitude published by Wiley Publications, this will be helpful.

3. You must go through History, Geography, Economy and General Science from any national level publication such as Arihant, Pearson or Universal.

4. Go through newspapers such as The Hindu, especially its Editorial and National pages. Plus, online portals such as GK Today, TCY and Cloud Affairs are of much help.

5. For English, You should regularly practice it and while answeing questions you should read the passage properly

6. For quantitative aptitude, you can refer to  Tenth standard R.S. Aggarwal or R.D. Sharma, it will be more than sufficient.

7. For Logical reasoning, you may refer to Books by M.K. Pandey and R.S. Aggarwal .
