About TS LAWCET 2020

Osmania University will conduct the online-based TS LAWCET 2020 entrance exam on May 27, 2020; the university conducts the exam on behalf of Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE). TS LAWCET 2020 exam scores will be used for admission to both 3-year and 5-year law courses offered by participating institutes. The intake capacity for the 3-year program is around 3190 seats, and for the 5-year integrated program, it is around 1480. The integrated law programs one can choose from include BA LLB, BBA LLB, and B.Com LLB. TS LAWCET 2020 application form submission last date without late fee has been extended to April 20 (from April 6) in view of COVID-19 pandemic; application opened in online mode on March 6. Desirous candidate need to fill and submit the application form of TS LAWCET 2020 before the last date. TS LAWCET 2020 admit cards for successfully registered candidates will be issued on May 21; the admit card will contain details about the roll number and the allotted exam centre. Post exam, results will be declared tentatively on June 10. This will be followed by counselling and seat allotment; the counselling schedule will be announced in due course.

The exam conducting authority released the application form of TS LAWCET 2020 in online mode on March 6; last date to submit completed applications is April 20 (extended from April 6). Such candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria may go ahead and fill the TS LAWCET 2020 application form before the last date. When filling the form, one must bear in mind only to enter genuine and verifiable information, as otherwise applications may be rejected.

Steps to fill TS LAWCET application form 2020

  1. Payment of application fee - To start the application process, the aspirant needs to first pay the application fee of Rs. 800 ( Rs. 500 in case of SC and ST categories) via online mode using net banking, credit or debit cards. Additionally, the fee can also be paid at TS - AP centres, which will be online centres operated by the authorities at various locations. After completion of fee payment, the candidate needs to check their fee payment status. 

  2. Registration - After payment of the fee, the candidate needs to complete the registration process and create an applicant account.

  3. Fill the form - In this step, the application form, which will have different sections like personal, academic, and contact details have to be filled.

Exam pattern of TS LAWCET 2020

  1. The test will be conducted in online mode with the paper set in both English and Telugu or English and Urdu.

  2. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes.

  3. There will a total of 120 MCQs each carrying 1 mark; for subject-wise break of marks and number of questions refer to the table below. 

  4. Each question will be followed by four answer options, out of which one will be the correct option.

  5. There is no negative marking

Exam officials will release the admit card cum hall ticket of TS LAWCET 2020 on May 21, in online mode. TS LAWCET 2020 admit card will carry important details like the name and address of the examination centre, name and roll number of the candidate, photograph, and date and time of the exam. One will be allowed to sit in the exam only on display of the  TS LAWCET hall ticket/admit card.

TS LAWCET Merit List 2020

 It must be noted that TS LAWCET exam scores will be used to prepare the TS LAWCET merit list which will be the basis of counselling and seat allotment process. Candidates who are ranked higher in the merit list of TS LAWCET will be given preference during seat allotment, so will have a better chance at admission or being offered a higher preference seat.

Tie-breaking procedure

In the event two-or more candidates score the same marks in TS LAWCET 2020 entrance exam, the ranking of such candidates will be decided in the following sequence:

  • Candidate with higher marks in Part A to be ranked higher
  • Candidate with higher marks in Part B to be ranked higher
  • If the tie is still undecided, they may be bracketed together, but seniority in age may be considered at the time of admission.

The admission conducting authority will release the category-wise TS LAWCET cutoff 2020 for all the participating colleges. Also, the TS LAWCET 2020 cutoff will be course-specific. The cutoff would indicate the last rank for which admission is given to a course for a particular category or institute. Candidates who score below this cutoff in the chosen course (or category or institute), he/she will not be considered for admission.

The various factors on which TS LAWCET 2020 cutoff would depend include the number of applicants, their performance in the LAWCET 2020 entrance exam, number of sanctioned seats, category of the candidate, etc. If any of these parameters change, the cutoff would also automatically change.

Mode of Counselling: Offline

Osmania University, Hyderabad, will conduct TS LAWCET 2020 counselling for such candidates who have qualified in the exam post declaration of result and release of the merit list. A counselling schedule will be released for eligible candidates.

The first step in TS LAWCET counselling 2020 is document verification, wherein all participants need to get their documents verified at designated centres. Only such candidates who get their documents verified successfully will be considered for admission, while others will be disqualified. Post document verification, one has to participate in web-counselling, which will include choice filling and locking. Since TS LAWCET 2020 seat allotment will be based on both the merit ran of the candidate and also selected options, ne much select the most matching options and also as many options as possible.

Yes, you can appear for TS LAWCET. But if you qualify before admission you have to provide all the necessary documents and your result. As per the eligibility criteria, you need to have a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
