About MHCET Law 2020

Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra conducts MHCET law for admissions to 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB courses offered by the law colleges of Maharashtra. The state-level law entrance will be conducted on April 12 for admissions to 5-year LLB courses, while for 3-year LLB, the test will be conducted on June 28. The conducting body has released the application form for MHCET Law 3-year LLB on March 19, in online mode, for which the candidates can apply till May 06. The application form for 5-year LLB is now closed. Through MHCET law 2020, more than 10,000 seats will be offered for 5-year LLB courses, while for 3-year LLB courses, the available seats are more than 15,000. Admissions to various law will be offered on the basis of MHCET law 2020 marks ( or rank).

MHCET Law MAH-LLB (5 Years) Eligibility Criteria

DHE, Maharashtra has prescribed the MHCET law eligibility criteria 2020 for candidates for looking admissions to 5-year LLB course offered by the participating law colleges of the state. Before filling out the application form, candidates must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria as mentioned below.

Eligibility criteria for 5-year integrated law:

  • Qualifying exam: The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam (including 3-year diploma in engineering)
  • Minimum marks: The minimum aggregate marks in the qualifying exam for Maharashtra state candidates is 45% for general category, 40% for SC/ST, and 42% for VJ / DT / NT(A) / NT / O.B.C./ S.B.C. category.  Other state candidates needs a minimum aggregate of 45% marks irrespective of their category.
  • Others: Such candidates who have passed senior secondary or obtained first-degree certificate through distance education or correspondence method may also apply

Candidates seeking admission to 3-year LLB course need to meet the following eligibility conditions.

  • For appearing in MHCET law 3-year LLB, candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Further, a candidate appearing in their qualifying exam are also eligible to apply for MHCET law 2020.

The DHE, Maharashtra has released the application form of MHCET law 2020 for 3-year llb on March 19, in online mode. The last date to submit the application form is May 6. Candidates can apply for MHCET law by registering and submitting the application form at the admission portal of DHE, Maharashtra. The application form for 5-year LLB is now closed.

How to fill the MHCET law application form?

Registration - While applying for MHCET law 2020, candidates need to register by providing their basic information which includes candidates name, father's name, mother's name, contact details and other personal details. 

Uploading the documents - Candidates will need to upload a recent passport size photo and a scanned copy of their signature. Both photo and signature should be in JPEG format.

Filling the application form - In the application form of MHCET law 2020, candidates have to provide all personal and educational details, category, domicile, address of correspondence and permanent address etc. It should be noted that the details mentioned in the MHCET law application form 2020 will be used for the entire admission process, thus it is very important that candidates provide their correct details.

Fee payment - Once the application form is filled, candidates can proceed to the fee payment option. The MHCET law application form fee can be submitted in online mode, by using the credit card/debit card or the net banking facilities.

MHCET Law 2020 Exam Pattern

The conducting body has prescribed a common MHCET law exam pattern for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB entrance test. The exam pattern of MHCET law outline the basic framework of the entrance test. As per the MHCET law exam pattern 2020, the entrance test will be conducted in online mode and will consist of 150 objective type questions. Candidates will be given a duration of 120 minutes to attempt the test. The detailed exam pattern is given below in a table.

MHCET Law 2020 Mock Test

The conducting body has provided static mock test links for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB entrance tests. Candidates can attempt the MHCET law mock tests for a better understanding of the computer-based test paper. the mock test can be given without any logging credentials and practised anytime.

  • Visit the official MHCET website.
  • Click on mock test link for your programme (3-year LLB or 5-year LLB)
  • Directly click on sign in link 
  • The Mock test will page will open
  • Attempt the mock test within the given time limits

The DHE Maharashtra will issue the MHCET law admit card to registered candidates on March 27, in online mode. The admit card of MHCET law 2020 can be downloaded by logging in to the candidate portal. The admit card is a very important document for appearing in the entrance test as it includes all vital information regarding the conduct of the exam such as candidate's name and roll number, exam centre address, date and timing of the exam, instructions etc.

The admit card for MHCET law 3-year LLB will be released later, on June 5, 2020.

  • Visit the official website of MHCET law
  • Select your course 
  • Open the login portal and log in using the registration id and password.
  • Click on admit card link
  • The MHCET law admit card will open in the new page.
  • Check all details mentioned in the admit card and take a print out of it.

MHCET Law 2020 Result

The authorities will declare the result of MHCET law 2020 five year LLB, on May 15. The MHCET law result for 3-year LLB course will be declared on July 14. The result of MHCET law 2020 will be released in the form of a PDF containing the roll number and qualifying status of the candidates.

MHCET Law 2020 Counselling

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of MHCET law 2020 will have to appear in the counselling and seat allotment process. The MHCET law counselling for 5-year LLB will start from May 15, while for 3-year LLB, the counselling will commence from July 21. 

For appearing in the counselling of MHCET Law 2020, the shortlisted candidates will have to register for Common Admission Process(CAP) in online mode. After registration, such candidates will be required to submit their documents and other details as asked by the authorities.

During the counselling process, the exam authorities will verify the details submitted by the candidates and will also allocate the seats to the candidates. It should be noted that the seat allotment will be done on the basis of merit cum preference criteria, i.e, the candidates getting a higher rank in the order of the merit will be given preference at the time of seat allocation.

After appearing in exam(MHCET Law)  you need to secure good rank for getting seats in top law colleges of Maharashtra. You need not to apply in different colleges, after declaration of results common admission process will start in which you have to register yourself in online mode

Is the exam postponed mhcet law 5 yrs

The exam is not rescheduled yet but there are high possibilities that the exam will be delayed due to the corona virus as mah MCA cet 2020 is rescheduled to 30 April 2020  and the other exam like mah cet for B.tech and B.Pharma is also delayed.

How many students apply for MH cet law 2020 for 5 years integrated Course??

To apply for MH CET 2020 5 year integrated course the studenst have to fill the online application form which has been released on 2nd January,2020 and will close on 2nd March,2020. The day for Examination of 5 year Integrated course in scheduled on April 12,2020. The applicant has to take the exam and then after the results are announced which is tentatively scheduled on May 15th,2020 the applicant can proceeed with the counselling and choice of college.

The eligibility criteria for 5 year courses are:

  • A candidate should be an Indian national.
  • Candidates with Maharashtra domicile will be eligible for 85% seats in the law colleges
  • Only 15% seats will be reserved for Outside Maharashtra candidates.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
  • Applicants must have 45% marks in the qualifying exam, however, reserved category candidates should have 40% marks.
