About MHCET Law 2025

The Common Entrance Test Cell Maharashtra (CET Cell Maharashtra) has declared the round 1 seat allotment results for MH CET 2025 3-year LLB on August 8, 2025. Candidates seeking admission to the 3-year LLB programme can download the MH CET Law seat allotment result through the official website: llb3cap25.mahacet.org. Candidates who have been allotted seats in the MH CET 3-year LLB round 1 seat allotment results 2025 must confirm and report to their allotted colleges between August 11 and August 13, 2025. The authorities declared the MH CET Law 2025 seat allotment for Round 1 admission for the 5-year LLB programme on August 6, 2025. Shortlisted candidates should physically report to the allotted college for admission confirmation by August 9, 2025. 

The CET Cell Maharashtra earlier published the MH CET 3-year LLB 2025 final merit list for Round 1 on August 2, 2025. The Round 1 MH CET 3-year LLB 2025 final list includes the names of all the candidates whose documents have been successfully verified for the MH CET Law 2025 CAP process for 3-year LLB programme. However, the authorities closed the MH CET 3-year LLB college option form filling for Round 1 & Round 2 on August 5, 2025. The MH CET 5-year LLB college option form filling for Round 1 & Round 2 was also closed on August 3, 2025. The MH CET 5-year LLB 2025 final merit list Round 1 was earlier released on July 30, 2025.  The authorities also announced the complete MH CET 3-year LLB counselling schedule. The MH CET 3-year LLB alphabetical list 2025 for Round 1 was released on July 28, 2025. After publishing the alphabetical list, candidates could raise grievances related to the alphabetical CAP round 1 list from July 29, 2025 to July 31, 2025. The MH CET 5-year LLB alphabetical list 2025 for Round 1 was published on July 24, 2025. 

CET Cell Maharashtra closed MH CET law counselling 2025 registration for 3-year LLB on July 21, 2025. Only those candidates who have a valid score are eligible to register for the MH CET Law 2025 counselling. The MH CET 3-year LLB result 2025 was declared on June 20, 2025.  The CET Cell had conducted the MH CET 5-year LLB on April 28, 2025, while the MH CET 3-year LLB was conducted on May 2 and 3, 2025. The CET Cell prescribed a revised MH CET law 2025 exam pattern for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB by reducing the number of questions to 120.  MH CET Law 2025 will be conducted online separately for 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB. Candidates who have a valid score in the exam can register for the online MH CET Law 2025 counselling process to gain admission into the participating MH CET Law 2025 colleges. There are around 16240 seats for 3-year LLB and 10860 seats for 5-year LLB in the MH CET Law 2025 admission process.

What is MH CET Law Exam?

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test - Law or MH CET Law is a state-level law entrance exam conducted by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra. Through MH CET Law 2025 candidates will be admitted into 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes of participating colleges in Maharashtra. The CET scores are accepted by around 150 law colleges in the state. A total of 147 law colleges accept MH CET law scores. 

MH CET 3-year LLB

Through the MH CET 3-year LLB entrance exam 2025, candidates are admitted into the 3-year LLB programme of participating colleges. There are around 16240 seats available for 3-year LLB.  The syllabus of  LLB CET 3 years includes sections on English, GK, legal and logical reasoning. The four sections are spread across 120 questions, each carrying one mark.

MH CET 5-year LLB

Through the MH CET 5-year LLB exam, candidates are admitted into 5-year LLB programmes of participating colleges. There are around 10860 5-year LLB seats available through the exam. The MH CET 5-year LLB syllabus has sections English, GK, Legal and Logical Reasoning and Mathematics. The MH CET 5-year LLB also has 120 questions, each carrying one mark. However, the weight distribution for each section is different.

MH CET Law Exam Instructions 2025

  • Candidates must take a printout of MH CET Law 2025 admit card and carry it to the exam hall.
  • Candidates must also carry proof of valid ID along with the admit card.
  • Candidates must report to the exam centre at the prescribed reporting time.
  • Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches, and calculators are prohibited inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates must wear simple clothing and avoid wearing any heavy jewellery or metals.

The State CET Cell, Maharashtra has released the MH CET 3-year LLB 2025 seat allotment result on August 08, 2025. The authorities announced the seat allotment list for MH CET 5-year LLB 2025 on August 06, 2025. Shortlisted candidates have to report to the allotted college to confirm their seat by August 09, 2025.

The MH CET Law 3-year LLB final merit list for the first round of counselling was published on August 2, 2025. The MH CET Law 3-year LLB choice filling window for Round 1 and 2 was closed on August 05, 2025. The choice filling window for MH CET Law 5-year LLB closed on August 3, 2025. Earlier, the authorities published the MH CET Law 5-year LLB final merit list for Round 1 on July 30, 2025. The MH CET Law 3-year LLB alphabetical list 2025 for Round 1 was released on July 28, 2025. The authorities will conduct three centralised LLB CAP 2025 rounds for admissions into 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes, which will then be followed by an institute-level round conducted at the college level.

All candidates who have a non-zero CET score in the MH CET Law exam could register online for counselling and seat allotment from the official counselling portal. Candidates will be allotted seats in law colleges based on merit cum preference. Candidates must make sure to clear the MH CET Law cut-off to be eligible for seat allotment. Here are the simple steps for MH CET Law counselling.

  1. CAP Registration: MH CET Law CAP registration is mandatory for appearing in the counselling process. Only such candidates who register for the counselling will be included in the merit list and considered for MH CET LAW seat allotment.
  2. Issue of merit numbers: Candidates who are shortlisted for counselling will be issued merit numbers.
  3. Choice filling: Candidates who have been issued merit numbers will be invited for choice filling and locking. As part of the choice-filling process, candidates will need to pick their choice of institutions before the start of CAP Round I and CAP Round II. All entries should be in order of priority.
  4. Seat allotment: The seat allotment will be made after each MH CET LAW CAP Round, taking into account the merit rank and choices entered by the candidate.
  5. Document verification: Upon allotment of seats, the candidate has to accept the seat, pay the acceptance fee through candidate log-in.
  6. Report at allotted college: Finally, the candidate has to report at the institute allotted to them on the designated day to complete the remaining admission formalities.

Note that options entered before CAP Round I will be the basis for seat allotment in CAP Round I and II. Also, the choice-filling option will be activated again before CAP Round III, which will be the basis for seat allotment in the round.

MAH-LLB (5 Years)

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra prescribes the MHCET law eligibility criteria 2025 for 5-year LLB programmes offered by various law colleges. The MHCET law 2025 eligibility criteria covers the minimum requirements that one needs to fulfill before filling out the application form.

MH CET law eligibility criteria 2025 - 5-year integrated law:

  • Qualifying exam: The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam (including 3-year diploma in engineering)
  • Minimum marks: Maharashtra state candidates needs to secure a minimum aggregate of: 45% - General category, 40% - SC/ST, 42% - VJ / DT / NT(A) / NT / O.B.C./ S.B.C. category.   
  • Others: Candidates who have passed senior secondary or obtained a first-degree certificates through distance education or correspondence method are also eligible for admission.

MAH-LLB (3 Years)

Before filling up the MH CET law application form for 3-year LLB, candidates must make sure they fulfil the eligibility requirement. State CET Cell, Maharashtra has prescribed the following conditions as part of MHCET law eligibility criteria 2025 for 3-year LLB:

  • The candidates must possess a graduate degree in any discipline.
  • Candidates appearing for their final year exams can also apply provided they submit the qualifying certificates at the time of admission.

  • Registration - The first step in the MHCET Law 2025 application process is registration, wherein an account needs to be created. In the MHCET law registration form, details such as name, father's name, mother's name, contact details, mobile number and email ID must be entered. On successfully entering the information, a new account will be created with a unique login ID.   
  • Uploading the documents - The candidate will have to next upload a photo and signature as per the specification outlined in the table below.

The CET Cell Maharashtra has revised the MH CET law 2025 exam pattern for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB. It has reduced the number of questions to 120 from the earlier 150 questions. Any candidate who plans to appear for the state-level exam should consult the MHCET law 2025 exam pattern which provides information on the exam modalities and question paper structure. The CET Cell prescribes the MH CET law exam pattern 2025 separately for 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB in the information brochure. The MH CET law syllabus 2025 is similar for 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB with an additional maths section for 5-year LLB. In the MH CET 3-year LLB there are four sections on English, GK, Legal and Logical reasoning. The MH CET 5-year LLB exam pattern has an additional section on Mathematics apart from the four sections in the 3-year LLB. 

The MH CET Law exam 2025 question paper will include objective-type questions only. There will be 120 questions to be attempted in a duration of 120 minutes. This translates to less than 1 minute per question. So, one must not only solve the questions but do it fast as well.

                                                The CET Cell Maharashtra has released the MH CET 3-year LLB provisional answer key on May 27, 2025 on its official website. Candidates will be able to challenge the MH CET 3-year law 2025 provisional answer key from May 28 to May 30, 2025. After considering the valid objections, the CET Cell will publish the final answer key of MH CET 3-year LLB 2025. The objection fee is Rs. 1000 per objection. The CET 5-year LLB final answer key was published on May 23 after considering the valid objections. Answers to five questions have been changed, and full marks are given for one question.

                                                The application forms for the 5-year and 3-year courses have different last dates to apply. The last date for the 5-year course is February 18, 2024, while for the 3-year course, it is january 31, 2024. The admit cards will be released around one week before the exam for both courses. And mark your calendar, the MH CET Law 2024 exam is scheduled for May 3, 2024.
