About ULSAT 2020

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun will conduct the computer based test (CBT) UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (ULSAT) 2020 from May 8-15, 2020 . ULSAT 2020 is conducted for offering admissions to five-year integrated law programmes namely B.Sc.L.L.B, B.Tech L.L.B, B.Com L.L.B, B.A L.L.B and B.B.A L.LB. The admission to 5-year integrated law programmes at UPES Dehradun is also done without taking ULSAT 2020. Admission through the non-exam route is done either through Class 12 board merit, CLAT merit or LSAT India merit scores wherein around 20% of the seats are offered through this route. However, candidates need to meet the basic eligible criteria set by the university. Direct admission through the non-exam route would also involve GD-PI process.

The application form ULSAT 2020 has begun on September 6, 2019; last date to submit completed ULSAT applications is May 3, 2020.

Educational qualification 

B.B.A.L.L.B with emphasis on Corporate Laws

Candidates need to have at least 50% marks in 10th and 12th class of 10+2 educational system.

B.A.L.L.B with emphasis on Energy Laws

B.Com.L.L.B with emphasis on Taxation Laws

B.Tech, L.L.B (Hons.) Computer Science Engineering with specialization in Cyber Law

MInimum 50% marks at 10th and 12th standard and minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths at Class 12th level.

B.Sc LLB with specialisation in Intellectual Property Rights/Food, Health and Environment Law/ Medical and Forensic LawMInimum 50% marks at 10th and 12th standard and minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths at Class 12th level.

ULSAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria – Age 

Candidates born on or after October 1, 1998, are eligible to apply for ULSAT 2020. For date of birth verification, class 10th certificate will be considered valid and authentic.

ULSAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria - For appearing candidates 

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also take ULSAT 2020. However, such candidates have to produce proof of their age in the form of their class 10th mark-sheet. They also need to produce all original documents/certificates at the time of counselling/admission.

Eligible applicants can fill ULSAT application form from September 6, 2019 onwards. The application fee can be paid through DD or any other online payment mode as per the convenience.

ULSAT Application Form 2020 - Steps to fill

The online application form of ULSAT 2020 will be filled in 5 stages, as mentioned below. 

Registration – First of all candidates need to register online by entering their mobile number and email ID, as a registration ID and password will be sent on the email ID and phone number. It must be noted that the email ID and mobile number must be valid as all the further communication will be done the registered email and phone number only. 

Log In – Once the candidates get the registration done, they have to log in using the log in ID and password sent to their email ID. 

Fill the Application Form – In this stage of ULSAT application form 2020, candidates have to enter other details like parents name, educational qualification, etc. 

Upload Photograh and Signature – At this stage, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature as per the prescribed size and dimension. 

Fee Payment – Candidates have to choose the fee payment option (Online) from the ULSAT 2020 application form and pay Rs. 1350 as fee using credit card, debit card and net banking. 

Note: For their future reference, candidates can keep a printout of the filled in application form.

ULSAT 2020 will be held in computer-based test (CBT) (or online) mode. Candidates will have to answer 150 questions in 3 hours. All the questions are objective in nature and candidates have to select the correct answer option out of the available. 1 mark will be given for each correct answer, while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. This means that candidates will be allotted marks out of a total of 150. The questions are asked from Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative & Numerical Ability, Legal General Knowledge and Legal Aptitude.

ULSAT 2020 admit card will be generated immediately after the slot booking process which will start from April 18, 2020. Candidates have to enter their application number and date of birth to download ULSAT admit card 2020.

The result of ULSAT 2020 will be announced in online mode in June. Through ULSAT result 2020, candidates will get their ranks and marks scored in the exam. A merit list will be prepared based on candidate’s marks in ULSAT result. As per the merit list, candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. Check more details below.

ULSAT 2020 Selection Process

ULSAT selection procedure 2020 includes qualifying ULSAT exam or direct admission through the non-exam route wherein candidates are offered admission on the basis of Class 12 Board Merit, CLAT Merit or L-SAT India Merit scores. Around 20% of the seats are offered through the non-exam route. Candidates taking admission through exam route (ULSAT) will have to appear in group discussion and interview. For the group discussion and interview, candidates will be called on the basis of their rank in the merit list. The GD and Interview will take place at different venues in the country.

The group discussion and interview will be held in June wherein candidates have to appear in the same at different venues – Lucknow, Mumbai, Delhi, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Dehradun and Chandigarh.

ULSAT (University of Petroleum & Engineering Studies  Law Studies Aptitude Test) is an entrance exam conducted for offering admissions to five-year integrated law programmes namely B.Sc.L.L.B, B.Tech L.L.B, B.Com L.L.B, B.A L.L.B and B.B.A L.LB .

This year it is going to be conducted between 8th-15th May 2020

In Kerala , ULSAtT has exam centres in only one city - Thiruvananthapuram

Please confirm the size of photo and signature for ULSAT.

There is no specific mention about the photograph size. So its ok if you upload a recent passport size photograph with a plain back ground with a size of 10KB TO 100KB. Your face and ears should be visible. Do not wear sunglasses. But if you use spectacles regularly, you can wear them.

Signature should be in Black ink. with a file size of 4KB to 30KB. You should put your full signature on white paper with black pen and scan it. Your signature should not be in capitals. It should be un running handwriting.

Hello Tanu,

The details about your examination centre will be given in your admit card.The admit card will be out one week before the exam, the exam will be conducted in the month of May, 2020. Your admit card will have all the candidature details, test centre and other important information. Hence you need to be patience until you get the admit card.

Hello Riddhi!

As per the official schedule released by UPES Dehradun, results for  ULSAT 2019 are tentatively scheduled for release in the last week of June 2019. The counselling process will start immediately after the release of results. The notice for the Same will be released by the concerned authorities. The selected candidates will be intimated after the results so that they can catch on with the admissions.
