About ULSAT 2019

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun conducts UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (ULSAT) every year in computer based mode as well as paper based (offline) mode. ULSAT 2019 is held for offering admission to five-year integrated law programmes namely BSc. LLB, B.Tech, LLB, B.Com LLB, BA LLB and BBA LLB. The admission to 5 year integrated law programmes in UPES is also done without taking ULSAT 2019. Admission through the non-exam route is done either through Class 12 Board Merit, CLAT Merit or LSAT India Merit scores wherein around 20% of the seats are offered through this route. However, candidates need to meet the basic eligible criteria set by the University. Direct admission through the non-exam route would also involve GD-PI process.

Candidates need to have at least 50% marks in 10th and 12th class of 10+2 educational system.

BA LLB with emphasis on Energy Laws

B.Com LLB with emphasis on Taxation Laws

B.Tech Energy Technology + LL.B with specialization in Cyber Law

Candidates need at least 50% marks in 10th and 12th class exam of 10+2 educational system and at least 50% aggregate marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th class of 10+2 educational system are required. 

B.Tech Energy Technology + LL.B with specialization in IPR


ULSAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria - For Appearing Candidates 

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also take ULSAT 2019. However, such candidates have to produce proof of their age in the form of their class 10th marksheet. They also need to produce all original documents/certificates at the time of counselling/admission.

The application form of ULSAT 2019 is now available from September 18, 2018 in online mode and will tentatively closed by April 25, 2019. Know the various stages of ULSAT 2019 application form below.

The offline application form of ULSAT is available from September 18, 2018 to May 25, 2019. The application fee can be paid through DD or any other online payment mode as per the convenience.

ULSAT Application Form 2019 - Steps to fill

The online application form of ULSAT 2019 will be filled in 5 stages, as mentioned below. 

Registration – First of all candidates need to register online by entering their mobile number and email ID, as a registration ID and password will be sent on the email ID and phone number. It must be noted that the email ID and mobile number must be valid as all the further communication will be done the registered email and phone number only. 

Log In – Once the candidates get the registration done, they have to log in using the log in ID and password sent to their email ID. 

Fill the Application Form – In this stage of ULSAT application form 2019, candidates have to enter other details like parents name, educational qualification, etc. 

Upload Photograh and Signature – At this stage, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature as per the prescribed size and dimension. 

Fee Payment – Candidates have to choose the fee payment option (Online) from the ULSAT 2019 application form and pay Rs. 1850 as fee using credit card, debit card and net banking. 

Note: For their future reference, candidates can keep a printout of the filled in application form.  

ULSAT 2019 Exam Pattern will be held in online as well as in offline mode. Candidates will have to answer 150 questions in 3 hours. All the questions are objective in nature and candidates have to select the correct answer option out of the available. 1 mark will be given for each correct answer, while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. This means that candidates will be allotted marks out of a total of 150. The questions are asked from Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative & Numerical Ability, Legal General Knowledge and Legal Aptitude.

ULSAT 2019 admit card is expected to be out just a few days ago from the exam, in May 2019. Candidates have to enter their application number and date of birth to download ULSAT admit card 2019.

The result of ULSAT 2019 will be announced in online mode in June. Through ULSAT result 2019, candidates will get their ranks and marks scored in the exam. A merit list will be prepared based on candidate’s marks in ULSAT result. As per the merit list, candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. Check more details below.

ULSAT 2019 Selection Process

ULSAT selection procedure 2019 includes qualifying ULSAT exam or direct admission through the non-exam route wherein candidates are offered admission on the basis of Class 12 Board Merit, CLAT Merit or L-SAT India Merit scores. Around 20% of the seats are offered through the non-exam route. Candidates taking admission through exam route (ULSAT) will have to appear in group discussion and interview. For the group discussion and interview, candidates will be called on the basis of their rank in the merit list. The GD and Interview will take place at different venues in the country.  

ULSAT 2019 GD and PI Process

The group discussion and interview will be held in June wherein candidates have to appear in the same at different venues – Lucknow, Mumbai, Delhi, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Dehradun and Chandigarh.
