is there any difference between LSAT and LSAT india exam

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 6th Nov, 2019

LSAT is technically the entrance examination for law courses in the United States. LSAT India is an unique version of LSAT, for admission in India. It is administered by Law School Admission Council. LSAT India has 2 Logical Reasoning sections,, one Analytical Reasoning and another Reading Comprehension section. Unlike the original LSAT, there are no experimental sections and no writing sample. Therefore, LSAT India is of lesser duration than that of LSAT. Tes , one can give LSAT after graduation, to be eligible for LSAT exam for admission into the three-year law programme, a candidate needs to hold a graduation degree from any recognized university with at least 55 percent marks in the qualifying degree . So if you have scored at least 55% or more in your graduation then you can give LSAT exam but in case if you belong to reserved categories (SC/ST/PWD), then the university gives 5 percent relaxation and which stands to be 50% so in that case even if you have scored 50 % then you will be eligible.

marshal prakash hembram 28th Jun, 2019

Hi Aspirant, LSAT is an exam for law schools. Law School Admission Council (LSAC), is the official body to conduct the LSAT exam and doesn’t specify any conditions to write the exam. Candidates need to check for any specific criteria with their targeted law schools. Test is intended for candidates desirous of studying law and have graduated or are about to graduate and looking for admissions in a law school. There is no age limit to write the test.

Hello. I have scored 463 and a percentile of 89.82% in LSAT-India. Can I expect a scholarship for O.P Jindal?

Souparni Student Expert 20th Jun, 2019

Hello Ajinkya,

The scholarship criteria at O.P Jindal for outstanding merit is ₹1 lakh per year which will be given to the top-five scorers in LSAT-India who enrol in three-year LLB Programme, five-year BA/BBA LLB programme and one year LLM programme. This criterion will be based solely on your merit.

Now, even though your percentile is excellent, there are only five seats for the scholarship and it is possible that there is a lot of competition for this as well. I would suggest you to not wait too much before going forward with your admission procedure. Although, if you're still in a doubt, you can contact the designated authorities and they can guide you.

What is the OP Jindal law school cutoff on the basis of LSAT India

shruti jha Student Expert 18th Jun, 2019

Hi Shahil,

This year the cutoff of o.p.jindal law school for lsat is min.of 80 percentile for 5 year law programmes.

And, for 3 year llb or one year law programmes the a candidate has to secure min.of 60 percentile.

For students securing marks below 60 percentiles is very difficult to get admission into o.o.jindal college this year.

Good luck.
