The Consortium of NLUs has started the CLAT 2026 registration on August 1, 2025. Eligible candidates can fill out the application form by visiting the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT registration 2026 will be open for a period of three months. The last date to fill out the CLAT 2026 application form is October 31, 2025. As per the consortium, there is a slight change in the CLAT registration for 2026; now, candidates have to fill out their NLU preferences after the declaration of the CLAT result. This means candidates can now prioritise CLAT NLUs based on their score and rank, thereby enhancing the possibility of securing admission to their preferred NLU.
After receiving clarification from the ministry of social justice, the Consortium of NLUs has restored previous PwD guidelines for scribe eligibility and additional time. The officials withdrew the stricter rules and allowed greater flexibility in selecting scribes along with special assistance during the exam.
As students prepare to apply, it is essential to familiarise themselves with the syllabus and exam pattern, which play a crucial role in their preparation strategy. As per the CLAT exam pattern, the total number of questions in CLAT 2026 will be 120, each carrying one mark, with five sections. The CLAT 2026 syllabus has five sections, namely English language, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, general knowledge, current affairs, and quantitative techniques. The syllabus for CLAT UG 2026 contains comprehension passages followed by a series of multiple-choice questions.
