About: Swami Devi Dyal College of Law, Panchkula was established in 2007. Swami Devi Dyal Law College is approved by the Bar Council of India and affiliated with Kurukshetra University. Swami Devi Dyal College of Law courses are offered at the undergraduate level which includes BA LLB and LLB. The college has a dedicated placement cell that handles the entire campus placement.

Q. Tell us something about yourself.

Ans: I'm Bhoomi from Swami Devi Dyal Law Department. I'm the CR of my class and also the commander of the law department. Being in the commander team we organise various events in our college. We the commanders listen to the problems of the students and try to solve them on our level. if it is a very serious matter we take the problem in front of the principal and make our full effort to solve the problem on time.

Q. How did you come to choose Swami Devi Dyal College of Law and what factors were instrumental in your choice?

Ans: I searched this institute on Google and I saw the review of this college was quite good and the ranking was also quite good. However, my expectations were not fulfilled according to the review I saw on Google.

Q. What were the salient features of your admission process at Swami Devi Dyal College of Law that struck you as unique?

Ans: Students are eligible for admission to the BA LLB programme if they score 45% in 10+2 and LLB if they score 45% in graduation or master’s or any equivalent degree. I first searched on Google and then came here to visit the institute. They asked for my documents which were required and they saw my percentage which is their criteria in the law college that we need to have 45% marks, I scored much more than that and my admission was cleared and I got the admission and came here.

Q. What is your take on the initial days at Swami Devi Dyal College of Law campus considering that it is the time to build contacts, and understand the processes? Could you give details on the support given by Swami Devi Dyal College of Law?

Ans: In the initial days, I felt very alone and left out in the college. At one point I thought of leaving this institute but as I started going to the college the teachers of the law department were so supportive that I started building my contacts and enjoyed the process of learning with my teachers. The teachers in the law department are very friendly and supportive.

Q. Now that you are a part of Swami Devi Dyal College of Law campus, what in your opinion are stand-apart features of the institute that you think are really assets to building a student’s career and future?

Ans: As we are part of law department students we have practical exposure more than theoretical and our field is full of practical knowledge only which our department provides us with a lot. We have a lot of court visits through which we get extra knowledge in our court visits and our department not only focuses on our practical knowledge they also on communication skills we regularly have seminars here which help us build our communication language and how to build ourselves and present ourself in front of the client and many more things which will help us in the building are career ahead.

We should have a counselling session on how to deal with the clients and how to maintain our mental health. The college provides us with the knowledge of making a balance between our studies and our daily life issues which the students are dealing with. As we are in student life we have a fest and functions level.

Q. Could you give details on the industry connection that is inbuilt with the course at SDDGPI and its advantages?

Ans: Yes visually have connections with different advocates of the High Court, District Court and as well as judges which help us in various stages of our study life in our college we frequently visit the District Court and High Court Visit.

Q. How advantageous in your opinion is the Swami Devi Dyal College of Law alumni network connection and in which ways?

Ans: This is the only college nearby directly affiliated to Kurukshetra University and I think this is the best advantage. According to me in this institute has the best transport facilities in the college. Swami Devi Dyal College of Law is most approachable to all of the students residing in Panchkula as well as in Chandigarh because this is on a straight highway road and very convenient through roadways also so there are no issues in reaching the institute. One of the best advantages of being admitted to Swami Devi Dyal College of Law is that this college provides you the practical exposure as being a law student practical knowledge is more important which my department is providing at its own level.

Q. Internships are an integral part of any student’s life. Please talk about the internship process at Swami Devi Dyal College of Law and how it leads to students being placement-ready.

Ans: Yes, Swami Devi Dyal College of Law do have a placement cell and it provides internships.

Q. In a nutshell, could you sum up your experiences at Swami Devi Dyal College of Law?

Ans: My department has made me a member of the commander team. I know how to manage things at a bigger level how to be a leader and motivate others to do things. We have got lot of knowledge of how the real court runs it is not at all the way we see in the movies it is entirely different this is a very bigger experience which I have come across and a college makes us check reality of the world.
