Law colleges and universities in India offer LLB admission based on national, state, and university-level entrance examinations or marks obtained in the qualifying exam. National level entrance exams such as Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) have already been conducted in December, whereas, state entrance exams such as Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MH CET), Telangana Common Law Entrance Test (TS LAWCET), Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (AP LAWCET), Kerala Law Entrance Exam (KLEE) will be held in the upcoming months of April and May. Indian law schools offer integrated LLB and 3-year LLB courses. Every year, thousands of law aspirants apply for LLB admissions through entrance exams. For instance, 72,631 students appeared for the CLAT 2026 to get into the prestigious National Law Universities (NLUs). The 5-year integrated LLB course is an undergraduate program offered by several law colleges in India. Candidates can pursue this course right after completing their Class 12th. The total duration of the course is 5 years. There are multiple types of 5-year integrated LLB programs.
BA LLB: Includes subjects like Sociology, History, and Political Science

Several law colleges and universities in India offer direct admission to LLB programmes based on merit.
