The application forms for the MAHA CET 3-year LLB course will be released on March 19, 2020. The DHE, Maharashtra conducts MH CET Law, a screening test for admission to undergraduate law programmes, namely 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated LLB. Admissions through MH CET Law 2020 will be offered by the law colleges of Maharashtra. Candidates will have clear MH CET Law 2020 successfully and appear in counselling and seat allotment process in order to be accepted provisionally for admissions.

MH CET Law 2020 - Eligibility criteria

Before we go into the details of MH CET Law 2020 application form, it is important to look into the eligibility criteria of MH CET Law. The eligibility criteria for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB are mentioned below.

MH CET Law eligibility criteria for 3-year LLB course

  • Educational Qualification - The candidate should have passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, with at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST category candidates belonging to Maharashtra and 42% for VJNT, SBC and OBC Category students).

  • Students who are in the final year/semester of graduation will also be considered eligible to apply. Such candidates will be asked to produce their documents of qualifying exam at the time of MH CET Law counselling and admission.

  • There is no age limit for appearing in MH CET Law 2020.

MH CET Law eligibility criteria for 5-year integrated LLB

  • Educational qualification - The candidates should have passed senior secondary from a recognized board with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST category candidates belonging to Maharashtra and 42% for VJNT, SBC and OBC Category students).

  • Candidates who possess a qualification equivalent to intermediate will also be considered eligible. For eg. Diploma in engineering.

  • Students who are going to appear in intermediate board exams are also eligible to apply for 5-year LLB course of MH CET Law 2020. Admissions to such candidates will be given only after they produce any documents related to educational qualification during counselling and seat allotment process.

  • There is no age limit for appearing in MH CET Law 2020 entrance exam for 5-year LLB.

MH CET Law Application form 2020

To apply for MH CET Law 2020, candidates will have to follow a few guidelines and steps. Further, candidates will need to upload some documents as prescribed by the conducting body. A few things that candidates should keep ready before they fill MH CET Law application form 2020 are given below.

  • A valid email id and mobile number

  • Scanned passport size photograph and signature (within the prescribed format)

  • Scanned image of 10th and 12th mark sheets

  • Other educational qualification details. (Graduation mark-sheet for 3-year LLB)

  • Total amount of application fees.

Visit the official website - Candidates will have to visit the official CET admission portal website, To apply for MH CET Law 2020, click on ‘apply online’.

Online Registration - To register yourself, you will need to choose ‘Click here for New Registration’. Enter your contact information, such as name, mobile number and email id. A registration id and password will be generated on screen. Also, you will receive the same on your mobile number and email account. Keep it save for further application process.



Fill MH CET Law application form

The online MH CET Law application form consists of 5 following sections

  • Basic Information

  • Photo and Signature

  • Education Details (SSC and HSC)

  • Preview of the filled-in application form

  • Application fees payment.

Basic information - Fill your personal information such as name, contact information etc, in this section.

Photo and Signature - Candidates should upload their scanned photo and signature in a prescribed format and dimensions as given below.

Education Details - Candidates will need to fill their educational qualifications which include graduation, intermediate and High school details.

Preview of the filled-in application form - Once the personal information and educational details are filled, check every section carefully to make sure that every section is filled correctly. Remember, incorrectly filled application may get rejected/cancelled right at the time of application submission or at the time of counselling and seat allotment process. After ensuring that every detail is filled correctly, click on ‘validate your details’ and ‘Save and next’.

*General category includes all reserved and unreserved candidates of states other than Maharashtra and General category candidates of Maharashtra.

^SC, ST, OBC candidates include only such candidates who are having the domicile certificate of Maharashtra.

Final submit - Before final submit, modify details if any correction is required. Click on Final submit only after ensuring that all information is filled correctly and photo and signature are uploaded successfully. Remember, after the final submit, no further request for modifications will be entertained.

Important Note - After final submission of application form, candidates must make print-outs of their filled-in application form and fee receipt. The printout documents will be required at the time of counselling and further admission process.

MH CET Law 2020 - Admit Card

After successful submission of application forms, the MH CET Cell will release MH CET Law admit card 2020, separately for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB courses. Candidates will be able to download the admit card in online mode only, at least 15 - 20 days before the date of MH CET Law exam 2020. The link to download MH CET Law 2020 admit card will be provided in the section once released by the conducting body.

Question: I am appearing in my board exams this year, Can I apply for MH CET Law 2020?


Yes, as per the eligibility criteria of MH CET Law, candidates appearing in their qualifying exams are eligible to fill MH CET Law application form. However, at the time of admission, you will have to produce a document of your qualification to the authorities.

Question: What are the fees payment options available in MH CET Law?


There will be multiple fee payment options like  Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallet. Applicant can choose any one method for fees submission.

Question: I have lost my password, how can I complete my MH CET Law application form filling process?


You will have to regenerate your password by going into the login portal. Click on ‘Forgot Password’ and enter your contact information in the new window. You will receive an OTP on your mobile, submit it back on the website and you will get your id back. Now, choose a new password and save it.

Question: How can I select my exam centres in the application form. I need my exam centre near my place.


You will find the list of exam centres in your application form. Select the centre of your choice in order of your preference. There are 3 options given in the application form, so you can select only 3 exam centres as per your preference. However, the authorities reserves the right to allot any exam centre to the candidates.

Dear Aspirant,

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is conducted by Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra. It is a state level exam and for applicable for undergraduate students. The programmes offered are 3- year LLB course and 5-year integrated law course. It is an online objective type paper.

For preparation of the exam, you need to know the schedule of the applications to understand your planning and how to schedule your time-table.

For 5 year LLB:-

The application starts 20, Jan 2020

The application ends 2nd March, 2020

The exam will be on April 12, 2020

The results will be declared on 28th April, 2020

For 3 year LLB:-

The application starts 19th March, 2020

The application ends 6th May, 2020

The exam will be on 28th June, 2020

The results will be declared on 14th July, 2020

So, this means that if you are applying for 3 year LLB, you have more time to prepare and so you must schedule your studies within that time limit and vice versa.

The next step towards preparation is knowing the exam paper pattern and syllabus.

There will be 150 questions in the exam which will be objective-type. There will be no negative marking and each correct answer will be give 1 mark. The duration of the paper will be 120 minutes/ 2 hours.

The syllabus is as follows:

1. Legal aptitude and legal reasoning (30 marks) :

  • Indian polity including Executive, Judiciary and Legislature, etc.
  • Law prepositions with facts
  • Constitution

2. General Knowledge and Current affairs (40 marks) :

  • History
  • Geography
  • Latest rules and amendments
  • Current affairs (news, events, awards, etc.)

3. Logical and analytical reasoning (30 marks):

  • Completing arguments, drawing well-supported conclusions
  • Reasoning by analogy
  • Applying principles or rules
  • Sets and statements
  • Puzzle
  • Blood relation
  • Series and related concepts

4. English (30 marks) :

  • Vocabulary
  • Synonyms and Antonyms
  • Analogies
  • Idioms and Phrases
  • One-word Substitution
  • Sentence Improvement and rearrangement
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Errors - Common errors, Spotting errors, inappropriate usage of words, spelling mistakes etc, English Comprehension etc.

5. Maths (50 marks) :

For get a hang of both of these things, solve previous years question papers and mock tests given online.

Some more things to remember:

  • Planning the schedule will always help you. Start as early as you can for the exam to ace it.
  • Stick to that schedule and respect your time and manage it well.
  • Read newspaper daily.
  • Improve vocabulary in English by taking in information in English through newspaper, magazines or books.
  • Review your mock tests results.
  • Revise as much as you can! Make notes and follow them.

when will online registration process for MH CET LAW exam 2020 start ?.

As the dates for the examination has not been released yet but it was guessed for releasing in particular months. Have a look at Important Dates for years MH CET LAW  examination,
  • Online registration starts in 2nd week of January
  • online registration ends in 2nd week of march
  • Hall ticket will be released in 2nd week of April
  • Exam will be held in 3rd week of April
  • Results will be held in 2nd week of may

No there is no book provided by the university for entrance preparation purposes, although the market is flooded with books which can help you in cracking the entrance  exam, but finding the right book is a herculean task, for this you will need to analyse previous year exam questions and go through sample papers, but i have attached a link for your help which will guide you through the syllabus for the exam, paper pattern and also the books which you should refer,

Yes, you are eligible for mhcet 2020 for 5 year llb course as to be eligible , a candidate should be either appearing for 12th exam or should have passed High School and the qualifying exam senior secondary with 45% aggregate marks while for SC/ST only 40% marks is required while the candidates from VJNT, SBC and OBC Category will require a minimum of 42% marks in their qualifying exam to be eligible. Since , you are in class 12th now and in 2020 you will be appearing for your board exam so you are eligible.
