The State CET Cell, Maharashtra, releases the MH CET Law merit list 2026 in online mode for each counselling round. The merit list will be prepared separately for MS (Maharashtra State) and OMS (Other State) candidates.
The MH CET Law 2026 seat allotment will be done based on candidates' percentile, category, and college preferences. The different steps in the seat allotment process are as follows.
Candidates who are allotted their first preference are required to accept the seat and complete the admission process. Such candidates will not be eligible for further counselling rounds.
Candidates who are allotted a seat other than their first preference can either freeze the allotted seat or opt for betterment, which allows them to participate in the subsequent CAP rounds. Those who accept a seat while opting for betterment can retain their existing allotment and compete for higher-preference colleges in the next round.
After each seat allotment round, candidates must confirm their admission by paying the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 1,000 and provide the required documents before the deadline.
The second CAP round is primarily conducted for betterment and for candidates who were not allotted a seat in the first round.
In the third CAP round, eligible candidates can submit the college preferences and participate for available seats.
Those who do not complete the admission process will not be able to participate in the upcoming CAP rounds. Any vacant seats remaining after all three CAP rounds are filled through institute-level counselling conducted by participating colleges.
The MH CET Law cutoff 2026 is the opening and closing percentiles, within which the candidates can gain admission to the MH CET Law participating law colleges.
