The Consortium of NLUs will notify the CLAT PG 2026 important topics on its official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Interested law aspirants should go through the important topics in CLAT PG 2026 as it is the starting point to prepare for CLAT PG. As per the CLAT LLM syllabus notified by the Consortium, the CLAT PG topics 2026 consist of different areas of law. The topics in CLAT PG 2026 are designed to test the candidate's proficiency in legal subjects and suitability to pursue advanced law courses. The consortium will conduct CLAT PG 2026 tentatively in the first week of December 2025.

As per the CLAT PG exam pattern, there are 120 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 2 hours. Consortium did not change anything in CLAT PG when it revised the CLAT exam pattern for UG courses from 2024 onwards. This means the CLAT LLM topics 2026 remain the same as earlier. The Common Law Admission Test PG will be conducted offline at 130+ test centres across the country.
The Consortium provides the CLAT 2026 exam pattern for LLM programmes on its official website. CLAT PG 2026 will have multiple-choice questions from different areas of law. The CLAT PG question paper consists of passages followed by questions based on the passage.

The law of torts deals with wrongdoings that are civil in nature. It is concerned with compensating the affected party for the civil wrongs committed by the perpetrator. The subjects that can come under torts can include, negligence, employment disputes, property disputes and so on. | |
Criminal law | The study of criminal law deals with crimes that are criminal in nature. Criminal law includes rules and regulations that are meant to protect the individual, society or state from harm. |
Labour & Industrial Law | The area of labour law is concerned with work and employment. It includes matters such as employment contracts, disputes, working conditions, compensation and salary, termination of employment and so on. |
Property Law | It deals with ownership and management of property. The subject of property law includes transfer of property, buying and selling of property, inheritance law, and so on. |
Family Law | The subject of family law governs family relations and covers issues such as marriage, divorce, alimony, child rights, adoption, inheritance and so on. |
Under the company law, subjects such as registration and incorporation of companies, supervision of conduct of companies, management and functioning of companies, and dissolution. | |
The Public International law governs relations between different countries and helps to find a common ground to avoid disputes. The subjects included under this law include matters relating to war, diplomacy, international trade, immigration, and human rights | |
Tax Law | Under tax laws are covered broad areas such as state and central tax procedures, tax compliance, imposition of penalties, tax regulatory bodies. |
Environment Law | Environmental law deals with subjects such as conservation of natural resources, international climate conventions, pollution, mining and infrastructure projects. |
The passages are based on legal matters such as important court decisions, statutes or regulations.
There will be around 22-25 passages.
The questions would be followed by multiple-choice questions.
The questions test the candidate’s ability to understand the matter given in the passage and awareness of the topics discussed in the passage and legal affairs
Further, the CLAT PG syllabus also tests the candidate's ability to apply one’s knowledge in practical situations

For CLAT PG 2026, if you aim for top NLUs like NALSAR, NLSIU and WBNUJS, a score of around 75+ marks (rank within 100 ) is generally good for the general category
Cut-offs change every year, so try to score as high as possible for a better chance.

For the best academic value and recognition choose NMIMS, or the Nirma University is also good. The DNLU is newer and can be considered as well but if we choose any one, then it is NMIMS.
