CLAT PG 2026 Counselling Step-by-Step Process

The steps in the CLAT LLM counselling 2026 process are described in detail below:

• CLAT PG Result 2026: The Consortium of NLUs declared the CLAT PG 2026 result on December 16, 2025.
• CLAT PG counselling registration 2026: Candidates who have a valid score in CLAT PG 2026 can register for the counselling process through their CLAT login. Candidates must mandatorily complete their CLAT PG 2026 counselling registration if they want to seek NLU admissions through CLAT PG. Candidates who were shortlisted for the counselling process will have to fill in their NLU preference list at the time of CLAT PG counselling registration after publication of the result.
• Payment of counselling fees: Candidates participating in the CLAT PG counselling 2026 must pay the counselling fee of Rs. 30,000 for the general category. SC and ST category candidates must pay the CLAT 2026 counselling fee of Rs 20,000. The CLAT counselling fee can be paid in online mode through a credit card/ debit card or NEFT.
• CLAT seat allotment 2026: Once the counselling registration process is over, the consortium allocates seats to students based on their merit ranks of candidates, NLU preferences entered by them, etc. The CLAT PG seat allotment 2026 will be published in multiple rounds.
• Payment of admission fee: Candidates who have been allotted seats during the allotment rounds must complete the document verification process. After document verification, candidates will be required to pay the balance admission fee to confirm their seats.
• Reporting to the college: Candidates who have been allotted seats and have paid the remaining admission fee will then be required to report to the college and attend induction and complete other formalities.

Candidates are allowed to register for CLAT PG counselling 2026 through the official website of consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The steps to register for CLAT PG counselling have been given below:

Steps to complete CLAT PG Counselling Registration

• Log on to the official website of CLAT - consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
• Log in to your CLAT candidate account through your mobile number and password and validate your CLAT PG counselling invite.
• Submit the NLU preferences
• Click on the “Make Payment” option.
• Enter the payment and refund details required, like bank account number, IFSC code, etc.
• Next, make the CLAT PG counselling fee payment.
• Upon successful payment and regeneration of the payment receipt, the CLAT PG counselling registration process will be completed.

CLAT Counselling Fees

CLAT PG 2026 Counselling Fee Refund Rules

Candidates can check the instructions below to get a full refund of the CLAT PG counselling registration fees 2026:

• If any candidate is not allotted a seat at the end of the Fifth round of the Admissions Counselling Process by the Consortium, or has not chosen the Freeze or Float option and Exit from the counselling process, the counselling registration fee will be refunded in full.
• Where a candidate has been allocated a seat and has chosen a Float or Freeze option till the fourth round, and then subsequently chooses to Exit or fails to complete their admission at the chosen NLU by paying their fees, then their counselling registration fee will be refunded in full if the exit option is exercised before the deadline or after a deduction of Rs. 5,000, if exercised after the last date.
• If a candidate is found ineligible by an NLU based upon the verification of documents/ information provided at any round, an amount of Rs. 5,000 will be deducted, and the remaining counselling registration fee will be refunded.
• Refunds will be facilitated to the same account from which the counselling registration fee was paid.
• Candidates have to ensure that their given bank accounts are functional during the course of the counselling process and the refund process.
• Requests to settle refunds to another account will not be considered.
• The Confirmation fee paid by any candidate shall be adjusted against the fees payable at the NLU where a candidate has secured admission. If a candidate chooses the Exit Option, or fails to pay the fees due at the NLU within the prescribed date, or is found ineligible by an NLU based upon the verification of documents/information provided by them, the Confirmation Fee shall not be refunded.
