Along with knowing the CLAT PG 2026 recommended books, it is also important for the students on how to effectively use the books to ace the exam. Below are the tips to effectively read the books for CLAT PG 2026.
Read standard texts, such as V.N. Shukla's Constitution of India or MP Jain's Constitutional Law, to get a basic understanding of the subject. Instead of learning specifics, concentrate on comprehending the fundamentals. Write your notes summarising important theories and significant instances.
Make considerable use of Bare Acts: particularly when discussing topics like contracts, criminal law, and constitutional law. To make the connection between theoretical knowledge and statutory language, read the bare act and the comments.
Keep a separate case law notebook: you can increase your awareness of case law. To remain up to current on recent rulings, consult EBC's Supreme Court Yearly Digest or Universal's Landmark Judgments. For quicker revision before the test, write briefs of two to three lines for each case.
Regularly practice multiple-choice questions: from resources such as Lexis Nexis CLAT PG Question Bank and Universal's Guide to LL.M Entrance Exam. After each topic, complete the questions to assess conceptual clarity and identify any weak points.
Make use of tools that facilitate revision: Resources such as flowcharts, brief notes, and Bare Acts Box Sets. Every week, review key passages, tenets, and maxims to help you remember legal jargon and increase your memory speed.
Plan your studies according to subjects: Divide your preparation into weekly goals, allocating two to three days for each subject, such as international law, IPC, and jurisprudence. For every subject cycle, combine reading, taking notes, and answering multiple-choice questions.
Participate in a test series: try out practice questions utilising previous CLAT PG questions or specific practice questions. To increase confidence and speed, mimic exam situations. Examine your performance to enhance your time management and accuracy.
Pay attention to recent legal developments, particularly in developing fields like environmental law, IPR, and data privacy. For application-based questions with context, keep up with updates via LiveLaw, SCC Online, or Bar & Bench.
