National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) has notified the detailed AILET eligibility criteria 2026 on August 7, 2025 at its official website - nationallawuniversitydelhi.ac.in. The AILET 2026 eligibility criteria cover requirements such as the minimum educational qualification, minimum passing marks, and the AILET age limit for the candidates. AILET 2026 will be conducted offline on December 14, 2025. NLU Delhi will conduct All India Law Entrance Test for admission into its BA LLB (Hons.) programme, while the AILET PG will be conducted for admission into its LLM programme. Read on to get all the details on the eligibility criteria of AILET 2026, including the reservation policy and criteria for foreign nationals.
If candidates are found not to conform to the AILET exam eligibility criteria at any admission stage, they will be disqualified from the admission process. Therefore, candidates must go through the eligibility criteria of AILET 2025 before completing registration. The AILET 2026 application form has been opened on August 7, 2025. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the application form till the last date.
The tables below describe the eligibility criteria for various UG and PG law programmes of NLU Delhi. The NLU Delhi eligibility criteria for foreign nationals is slightly different as such candidates need not appear for the AILET exam.

Candidates admitted under the Foreign Nationals/NRI category do not have to appear for AILET2026. However, they must fulfil the eligibility conditions as given below -
Candidates who possess the citizenship of a country other than India are eligible to apply under the foreign nationals category
Foreign nationals should make sure they possess the minimum educational qualification for foreign nationals as prescribed by NLU Delhi
Foreign nationals do not have to appear for AILET 2026 as their admission would be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
Candidates applying under Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/ Person of Indian Origin (PIO) have the option of applying under OCI/PIO or Indian students category. If they apply under the Indian students category, they must appear for AILET 2026.
The candidates under foreign National and OCI/PIO Category will be selected based on percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
Candidates must have a minimum of 65% in class 12 or equivalent exam to be eligible to apply under foreign nationals category.
Any vacant seats under foreign nationals/OCI/PIO category will be considered as general category seats and filled as per merit in AILET.
NLU Delhi will allot seats as per the pre-defined reservation policy. Candidates who are applying under reserved category must make sure they fulfil the AILET eligibility criteria 2026 for the reserved candidates and possess the required certificates to claim the concessions under the reserved category. The category-wise reservation criteria of AILET 2026 are given below.

Candidates must have valid documents and certificates issued by the competent authorities to claim reservation.
Any vacant seats reserved for SC will be converted into ST seats and vice versa.
If SC and ST seats both remain vacant, then they will be converted to general category seats.
Only candidates included in the Central List of OBCs or under the Delhi State List of OBCs (Notified by the Government of NCT of Delhi) will be eligible to apply under the OBC category.
5% horizontal reservation for the PwD category
30% horizontal reservation for women in the reserved and foreign nationals category
Candidates who fail to complete the admission formalities within the prescribed timeline after publication of the allotment list will be disqualified.

NLU Delhi has released the AILET application form 2026 on August 7, 2025. Candidates who fulfil the AILET exam eligibility can fill the application form from the university’s official website. AILET PG question is exclusively multiple choice questions or MCQ based . You do not need to write any paragraph based questions. The exam will have 100 MCQs, each worth one mark, covering various branches of law. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answers.

hey, Having a CLAT rank of 21,000 and an SC category rank of approximately 1,000, you may get a good chance by applying to NLUs in which SC category seats remain unfilled. At this rank extend, there are routinely open positions at state NLUs or more current NLUs with reserved seats SC candidates. Focus on appying to NLUs such as NLU Jodhpur, NLU Odisha or NLU Tamil Nadu, which occasionally have vacancies in saved categories. As well, monitor the CLAT guiding entry in terms of opening overhauls and participate in spot rounds properly.
For admission to its five-year BA LLB degree, Arham Law College in Pune does accept AILET results. But the college also takes into account other admission tests, such as MH CET Law and CLAT. Verify certain requirements (such as minimum scores and application procedures) directly through the college's official channels, as admissions procedures might differ.
