All India Law Entrance Test
Dear Hetvi, AILET is an entrance examination for 5year integrated Law programme, B.A LL.B. It is not for LLB. All the 83 seats for 5year Law Integrated Programme. So if you are completing your graduation, AILET isn't for you because it is a detour. You have to attempt other Law entrance examinations which have 3 year LLB programmes.
Hi,
If you go by the CLAT and AILET there is no difference in their subjects. But there is some change in no. of questions and time allotted for answering them. You can check their Sample papers, to make yourself familiar with the type of questions asked in both the exams. In CLAT, candidates will have to answer 200 question in stipulated 2 hours, while in AILET they will get just 90 minutes to answer 150 questions. So, going for CLAT along with preparing for AILET really be a wise decision like killing two birds with one stone. I hope it helps!

Hello,
Although you asked this question, a long time back still I want to answer your question. Yes, you can apply for both, CLAT as well as AILET. CLAT is admission to 21 NLUs and while AILET is strictly for admission to NLU, Delhi.
There's no such restriction that one's not allowed to fill two forms of these exams, so you can definitely go ahead and fill the form of both AILET as well as CLAT.
Dear Arshad, AILET is conducted by the National Law University, Delhi for admissions into NLU. So, only NLU accepts this score. It is not accepted or adopted by any other college or University. It is not a Common Entrance Examination and so cannot be adopted by other colleges and Universities. Dear Hitesh,
Since you are already a graduate and have completed your Bachelor's, you can pursue the field of law through 3-year LLB course which will equip you with the credentials to become eligible for practice in the court of law. Besides this, you can also join some short-term, diploma programmes in niche law courses like cyber law, etc. if you want to simply gain specialization and insights into the legal arena. However, it will not make you eligible to practice in the courts.
Furthermore, many have this confusion as to whether or not they can simply do an LLM to pursue law. With respect to that, it isn't allowed. Only those who have an LLB degree can go for LLM.
Coming to AILET (as marked in your question), it is conducted either for 5-year LLB or 2-year LLM admissions in the NLU Delhi. However, the best course of action for you would be to pursue a 3-year LLB degree since you are already a graduate. This will help you save on two years. You can go for DU LLB entrance exam, Punjab University three-year law entrance, etc.
Hope that helps.
All the best!
