TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Osmania University, Hyderabad, has announced the TS LAWCET 2019 eligibility criteria for candidates who want to enrol themselves in the five year integrated and three year LLB programmes. These eligibility criteria of TS LAWCET 2019 require candidates to hold certain academic qualifications and minimum aggregate percentages to be eligible for the admission processes. In case candidates are found to be not fulfilling TS LAWCET eligibility criteria 2019, their applications will be outrightly rejected. 

This page lists down the entire eligibility criteria which candidates need to fulfil to be eligible for TS LAWCET 2019. Before proceeding with the application form, candidates are advised to go through the TS LAWCET 2019 eligibility criteria listed below and ensure that they fulfil them. If candidates find that they do not fulfil the eligibility criteria of TS LAWCET 2019, it is advised that they refrain from filling the application form or participating in further admission processes. 

TS LAWCET, also known as Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test, is conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad, every year for candidates who want to pursue five year integrated or three year provided by the university. TS LAWCET 2019 will be conducted on May 20, 2019.

TS LAWCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria - Three Year LLB Programme

Academic Qualifications

  • Candidates should have completed their graduate programme (under 10+2+3 pattern) from a recognised university with an aggregate of 45% or passed any other examination recognised equivalent by the concerned universities with the same aggregate.

  • If a candidate had secured less than 45% in the aggregate, he/she should have scored at least 45% in any additional Graduate or Postgraduate degree.

TS LAWCET 2019 Age Limit 

As per the orders of the SC, there is no age limit for candidates who wish to study law. 

TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Five Year LLB Programme

Academic Qualifications

Candidates should have passed their two year intermediate examination (under 10+2 pattern) with a minimum aggregate of 45% or any other exam recognised equivalent by the concerned university of the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S and Bar Council of India.

As per the orders of the SC, there is no age limit for candidates who wish to pursue law programmes. 

TS LAWCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria - Relaxations

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will be provided with a relaxation of 5% marks in the aforementioned qualifying exams. 

  • Percentages like 39.5% (for SC/ST candidates) and 44.5% (for other categories) will be rounded off to 40% and 45% respectively.  

TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Nationality 

Candidates applying for TS LAWCET 2019 should be Indian nationals and satisfy the local/unreserved status as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974. 

TS LAWCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria - Who are not Eligible 

Candidates who have completed their 10+2 or graduation/ postgraduation through open universities directly without any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies will not be eligible for admissions into law programmes.

TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Important Points

  • Candidates who are yet to appear for the qualifying examination will also be eligible to apply for TS LAWCET 2019. For such students, the entry will be subject to whether they secure the minimum aggregate requirements as mandated in the eligibility criteria of TS LAWCET 2019. 

  • If candidates are found to be not fulfilling the eligibility criteria, their applications will be rejected by the university. Candidates will not be intimated by the university about the cancellation. 

  • Before proceeding with the application form, candidates are required to go through the eligibility criteria.

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST will get relaxations in the eligibility criteria.

  • As per the TS LAWCET 2019 eligibility criteria, those who have completed their 10+2 or graduation or postgraduation from open/distance mode directly without any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies will not be eligible to apply for admissions.

Q. Is it important for candidates to fulfil the eligibility criteria of TS LAWCET 2019? 

A. Yes. it is important for candidates to fulfil the eligibility criteria mandated by the university.  Candidates who are found to be not complying with the eligibility criteria will be denied admissions into the university. 

Q. Who are not eligible to apply for TS LAWCET 2019?

A. As per the TS LAWCET 2019 eligibility criteria, candidates who have completed their 10+2 or graduation from open or distance mode directly without any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies will not be eligible to take admissions into the university for the three/five year LLB programmes. 

Q. Are there any relaxations provided in TS LAWCET eligibility criteria 2019 for SC/ST candidates? 

A. Yes. There is a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate requirements for SC/St candidates. 

Q. Are candidates who are yet to appear for their qualifying examination eligible for TS LAWCET 2019? 

A. Yes. Candidates who are yet to appear for the qualifying examination are eligible as per the eligibility criteria of TS LAWCET 2019. Their admissions will however be subject to whether they secure the minimum aggregate percentage. 

Q. Will the university cancel the applications of those candidates who do not fulfil the TS LAWCET 2019 eligibility criteria? 

A. Yes. The university will cancel the applications of ineligible candidates. 

Q. Will percentages like 39.5% or 44.5% be rounded off as per the TS LAWCET eligibility criteria 2019? 

A. Yes. such percentages will be rounded off to 40% and 45% respectively. Therefore, candidates with such percentages will be considered eligible to apply for TS LAWCET 2019.
