is distant LLB course available?

pdwords Student Expert 2nd Mar, 2020
Hello,

LLB course in distance mode isn't recognized by Bar Council of India, so if you're interested in pursuing this kindly do so through regular mode.

Also, law as a course isn't just all about theoretical knowledge, there's practical applications as well.

Some of the top universities conduct entrance test for this such as DU LLB conducted by Delhi University, BHU UET by BHU,  LSAT scores are accepted by many top universities.

students from b tech back round are also eligible? and course LLM is avaliable in ap lawcet

Kanupriya Gupta 26th Jan, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

This year AP LAWCET is taking place on May 8 2020. The conducting body of the exam os Sri Krishnadevaraya University of Andhra Pradesh where admissions for 3-year LLB and 5 year LLB are taken. The exam is an online exam with MCQ questions and includes subjects like General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Mental Ability and Legal Aptitude. The languages in which it can be given are English and Telugu. The duration of the test is one hour and 30 minutes.

To answer your question, it is important to look at the eligibility criteria for the exam. It does not offer LLM separately but offers 5 year integrated law exam for which the score for your 10+2 is taken into consideration and it marks that the aggregate percentage required is 45%. The exam has no age limit. So yes, you are eligible to appear for the same. If you wish to appear for LLB, it requires 10+2+3 aggregate to be 45%. But unfortunately, neither does AP LAWCET offer LLM, nor are you eligible to pursue the same without a LLB. So you can consider pursuing one for LLM.

For the application, you are required to apply online in the 3rd week of March 2020 when the applications will be open. You will have to take care while you upload the documents required for the exam as they have to be in a certain format.

The syllabus is as follows:

Section Unit
General knowledge and mental ability General knowledge
Mental ability
Current affairs National and international events
Legal aptitude Aptitude for law
Elementary knowledge of law principles
Constitution of India

Hope this helps. All the best!
