When you fill the form for counselling you need to change the category.
Later you have to show the category certificate when you go for documents verification.
If you fail to show the document then there cannot be anything done.

Candidates need to visit to the official website of Andhra pradesh state council of higher education to appear for the counselling of AP LAWCET 2019
Candidates can now check the AP LAWCET 2019 counselling schedule and schedule
Enter roll number, date of birth and password.
A processing fee of Rs. 1000 has to be paid by general candidates for the counselling of AP LAWCET 2019. For those candidates who belong to SC/ ST category, the processing fee will be Rs. 500. The processing fee is non refundable
Finally, candidates need to select their choice of colleges from the given list of APSCHE website
Candidates need to generate password and login through their registered account. To generate the same, candidates need to send an SMS to 8790499899 as ‘APLAWCET’ (space)01(space)Hall ticket number’
After the completion of steps, candidates of AP LAWCET 2019 will receive an SMS on their mobile number which will confirm the allocation of seats by a candidate

As per my knowledge and experience , i think seat allotment in AP LAWCET will be done on the basis of student's rank, category and preferences filled during the counselling. The counselling is done on the merit cum preference basis, which means students with better rank will be allotted college of their choice first.
