Hello,
Yes, you can take admission in a BA or BSc program and then side by side continue your preparation for CLAT or NEET Examination.
This is done by many students to secure an alternative in case things don't go as planned. Students often get themselves enrolled in Open Universities that are recognised such as IGNOU and pursue graduation degree while preparing for the entrance examination right from their home.
NEET UG is one of the toughest entrance examination. Though it might be one of the toughest Entrance Examination but with hardwork and meticulous preparation it can be cracked.
------- So if you wish to take a drop and prepare again for the examination then first ensure that you will be committed to your studies and education throughout this drop year.
What most of the dropper find it difficult is that their zeal to prepare and work hard for the exam fizzles out after a month of preparation or so and they end up wasting the whole year.
So, before making a decision ensure you will work hard and avoid all sorts of procrastination.
------ Now talking about preparatory ways for the examination. Some of them include preparing a suitable timetable, using the right study materials, solving question papers and mock tests and these will all help you study productively and perform excellently in the exams.
------ Complete your Syllabus with complete understanding of all the concepts as soon as possible.
------- Ensure you practice as many questions as possible, it will help you in understanding mistakes and developing new concept.
------- Also it is must you give time to time mock test to see your level of preparation.
------- Clear all your doubts with the teachers or friend regarding a difficult concept. This will be helpful in developing a better understanding of that particular concept.
I hope you find the answer helpful.
Thank you.
See CLAT is conducted at national level, and its scores are accepted by various NLUs, and other government/private colleges, however you should know that there are other entrance exams as well such as AILET, CUET UG which was earlier known as CUCET, PU BALLB, LSAT etc, so there are other options as well for BA-LLB, you haven't mentioned if you have already passed 12th, and missed CLAT this year or couldn't qualify the same, you could have easily filled other entrance tests form as well, nonetheless integrated law courses come in various forms such as BA-LLB, BCom-LLB, BBA-LLB, BSc-LLB, BCA-LLB etc, these are basically amalgamation of the syllabus of law with other disciplines such as art, commerce, management, science, computer application respectively, say for instance you're interested to explore the corporate world then you may opt for BBA-LLB or BCom-LLB, the syllabus would be more aligned for your future goals professionally, other than this the working opportunities for any law graduate remains the same such as appearing for judiciary exams, upsc, state pscs, ssc cgl/cpo, banking/insurance exams, railways recruitments for graduates, there are also specialist posts in banking sectors for law graduates which you can apply etc, now is it worthy or not for a science student to drop a year for clat depends upon various factors such as which colleges in specific are you targeting, if it's only NLUs then CLAT is the only option however as I mentioned there are other good colleges as well and moreover other law entrance exams also, if you wish to explore a career in law then it would have been more useful to apply for other exams as well, you have to ask yourself this questions, "how strong is your desire to pursue law as a career", the answer lies in your question, if you want to opt for courses in science stream, go ahead and do the same, however if you're aiming for a career in law, then apply for more than one exam, and keep possibilities open for admission in colleges/institutions beyond NLUs.
Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination (Class 12) with at least 45% aggregate marks . SC and ST candidates are required to secure at least 40% or equivalent grade. So pass your class 12 firstly and then you will be eligible for clat exam .
