What the syllabus for clat suggest the book

Tanya Gupta 26th Mar, 2025

The CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) syllabus includes five main sections: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. For preparation, some recommended books are *Word Power Made Easy* by Norman Lewis for English, *Lucent’s General Knowledge* for GK, and *Manorama Yearbook* for current affairs. For Legal Reasoning, *Universal’s Guide to CLAT & LLB* is useful, while *A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning* by R.S. Aggarwal helps with reasoning. For Quantitative Techniques, *Quantitative Aptitude* by R.S. Aggarwal is a good choice. Regular mock tests and previous years' papers also enhance preparation.

the situation is that i had taken pcb in 11th to do neet and now when i am going in 12th in 2025 my decision is tilted towards clat ug how can I prepare for my clat with 12th pcb boards exam

kumardurgesh1802 6th Mar, 2025

Hello Abhinav,

Since you're preparing for CLAT UG while studying PCB in 12th , you’ll need a smart strategy to manage both. CLAT primarily tests English, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, and Quantitative Techniques . Here's how you can balance both:

1. Time Management

  • Study 12th subjects as per school schedule and dedicate 2-3 hours daily for CLAT.

  • Utilize weekends for CLAT mock tests and revision.

    2. CLAT Preparation Plan
  • English & Logical Reasoning: Read newspapers (The Hindu, Indian Express), solve puzzles, and practice comprehension daily.

  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Follow The Hindu, PIB, and monthly current affairs magazines.

  • Legal Aptitude: Read basic legal principles, past CLAT papers, and case laws.

  • Maths (Basic Quant) : Solve 10-15 questions daily from Class 10-level maths.

    3. Mock Tests & Practice
  • Start practicing mock tests from July-August.
  • Analyze mistakes and improve weak areas.

    4. Maintain Consistency
  • Prioritize board exams from Dec-Feb, but don’t neglect CLAT.
  • After boards, fully focus on CLAT till December.

With discipline and regular practice, you can crack CLAT while managing PCB boards!

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

in my 10th marksheet my mother name is punam and in her aadhar card her name is written as poonam so is that issue for filling jee form

Kenma Kozume 5th Mar, 2025

hi ,

Yes, the difference in spelling between Punam (in your 10th marksheet) and Poonam (in your mother's Aadhaar card) could potentially create an issue while filling out the JEE application form, especially if document verification is required later. However, minor spelling variations are generally not a major problem unless specifically asked to be corrected.

this is what you can do -

  • Use the name as per your 10th marksheet when filling out the JEE form, as it is an official academic document.
  • Check the JEE application guidelines to see if they mention any name correction policy for parents' names.
  • If possible, get an affidavit stating that "Punam" and "Poonam" refer to the same person —this can be useful in case of any future verification issues.
  • If time permits, correct the name in Aadhaar to match the 10th marksheet, as Aadhaar name updates are relatively easier.

hope this helps
