Presidency University School of Law saw some of the most distinguished names from the legal fraternity gracing its campus with three major events being organised for the benefit of the law students. At Presidency University School of Law, the Presidency Legal Industry Interface Summit was held in the last week of October 2025 to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice. At a time when the legal profession is being reshaped by technology, globalisation, and evolving client expectations, this summit helped to bring together leading litigators, corporate in-house counsels, law firm partners and senior HR professionals to throw light on recruitment trends, emerging skills, and career pathways to give students a clear roadmap ahead.
The event was inaugurated by Shri. Udaya Holla-Former Advocate General of Karnataka and Senior Advocate Holla & Holla. Drawing from over five decades of distinguished legal practice, Shri Holla delivered a powerful message on the fundamental values that should guide every aspiring lawyer. He began by reflecting on the true essence of the legal profession, emphasising that law is not merely a means of livelihood but a vocation rooted in service, ethics, and integrity. He highlighted that in an era where commercialisation often overshadows principles, it is essential for young lawyers to remember that values must always take precedence over the pursuit of money.

According to him, only those who uphold honesty, dedication, and respect for the Constitution ultimately build a lasting and meaningful career. He further underscored the importance of continuous learning, noting that the legal landscape is undergoing rapid transformation. With technological advancements, evolving statutes, and emerging fields of law, Shri Holla urged students to be proactive in updating themselves. He strongly advocated for developing the habit of reading from ready reference books to scholarly materials to strengthen one’s foundational understanding of the law. He reminded the audience that a lawyer who stops learning quickly becomes outdated, whereas a lawyer who reads consistently remains relevant and effective.
Shri. H.N. Nagamohan Das, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, also spoke about law being a noble profession and a service that requires empathy and intelligence. He inaugurated the Nationwide Pro Bono Conclave on November 14th 2025, which was organised by the Pro Bono Club at Presidency University School of Law.
Shri Das elaborated on the significance of Pro Bono Work and Public Interest Litigation in his powerful address and congratulated the School of Law for organising a National Conclave on this less addressed theme.
Twenty Law Schools from all over India participated in the Conclave and presented their Pro Bono and Legal Aid initiatives undertaken in the past two academic years. Four distinguished experts from all over India were invited as speakers and judges for the Conclave.
