IPU CET Law Counselling 2017 - Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) begins online counselling of IPU CET Law 2017 from June 13, 2017. Once the candidates have qualified for the counselling rounds based on the cutoff marks acquired, they are required to register for counselling online by paying the counselling fees and filling their choices of preferred law institutes. After completing this process, they need to report to the designated institute with the required documents and pay the admission fees in person. A candidate who is unable to complete any step of the counselling process will not be eligible for seat allotment of IPU CET Law 2017 for admissions to BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes.
IPU CET Law Counselling 2017 – Steps to Follow
Candidates seeking admissions to any of the 11 affiliated law colleges of GGSIPU must follow the below mentioned procedure to register themselves:
Candidates need to register online to be eligible for the counselling process.
At the time of registration, they need to pay the requisite counselling fee.
Once the registration is completed, a login-id and password will be generated which will be used at the time of online counselling.
Candidates must save the registration confirmation page along with the registration form and take a printout of the same once registration is successful.
Payment of IPU CET Law 2017 Counselling Fee
At the time of online registration for the counselling, candidates need to pay a particular amount as the counselling fees, which can be paid in both online and offline modes. GGSIPU has not announced the fees amount for IPU CET Law 2017. According to the last year IPU CET Law entrance exam, the counselling fees was fixed at Rs 1000/- which is expected to remain similar this year as well.
Important Points Related To IPU CET Law 2017 Counselling Fee Payment
The requisite amount for counselling of IPU CET Law 2017 must be paid by before the scheduled end date.
If for any reason the online fee payment transaction fails, the amount will be refunded to the candidate.
In case of absence of fee payment confirmation receipt, the institute helpdesk can be contacted.
Choice Filling of Institutes
To facilitate seat allotment, candidates are required to fill in their choices of preferred law institutes.
Based on the choices filled, the University will allot seats to the candidates. To increase chances of getting a seat in the University, candidates must fill in as many choices as possible.
Once the first round of seat allotment is completed, candidates can edit their choices based on their preferences. It is advisable to take printout of every modification made by them.
Allotment of Seats
After candidates have indicated their choices, seat will be allotted based on merit, choice, category, and region.
Seat allotment results can be checked online.
Candidates must print the provisional allotment letter once seats have been allotted to them.
If the candidates are satisfied with the allotted seat, they need to pay an admission fees of Rs. 40,000/- as an acceptance and confirmation of the seats. The same can be paid in either online or offline modes.
Failure to pay the fees will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat. This will also forfeit chances of participating in further rounds of counselling.
In case the candidates are not satisfied with the allotted seats, they can modify their choices for the remaining rounds of counselling.
Upon payment of the admission fees, a second counselling round will be held wherein candidates will be given a chance to upgrade their choice of seats.
Once the seat allotment process is completed, candidates need to report to the allotted college and submit the provisional seat offer letter, receipt of payment of academic fee and other necessary documents.
Failure to produce these documents will forfeit their chances of claiming the allotted seats.
Spot Counselling Process
There may be an offline spot counselling round conducted by the University based on the availability of seats in IPU CET Law participating institutes 2017.
Withdrawal of admission and refund of seats will not be allowed for candidates who participate in spot counselling.
IPU CET Law Counselling 2017 – Important Documents Required
When the candidates appear in person for the counselling rounds scheduled at the designated law institutes, the following documents need to be carried for validation (both original and photocopies):
Counselling fee payment receipt
Admit card of IPU CET Law 2017
Class 10th mark sheet and other relevant certificates
Class 12th mark sheet and other relevant certificates
A character certificate, not more than six months old, from the head of the Institute last attended or from any gazetted officer.
Candidates passing from Distance Learning/Open School system must present a proof of the location of their study centre/institute/board.
In case the result is awaited, an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- attested by the notary, is required.
Medical and OBC (Non-Creamy) certificates (if applicable).

Answer: Admissions to GGSIPU will be carried out on the basis of the merit obtained by candidates in the IPU CET Law 2017. After qualifying the law entrance, counselling rounds will be organised where in candidates will be allotted seats based on their preferences and the merit acquired.
Question: Do I have to report to any IPU CET Law Counselling centre for registration or choice filling?
Answer: Since the entire process is online, candidates need not go anywhere. They can register and fill choices online from the place of convenience with internet access.

Answer: The detailed joining dates are mentioned in the schedule shared by the University and candidates who have finalised their seats by paying the academic fees are required to join the allotted college or course within the stipulated timeline.
Question: What is the requirement for seeking provisional admission for result awaited candidates?
Answer: Candidates must possess a proof of being eligible for admission as per the official guidelines mentioned in the admission brochure released by the University. An undertaking is required to be submitted in this case stating that the candidate is seeking provisional admission and their result is awaited.
Question: Is there a rounding off of percentage of marks in qualifying marks?
Answer: No. The rounding off practice is not applicable for percentage of marks of qualifying examination. For example, if the candidate secures 49.99% in his/her qualifying examination, then it will not be rounded off to 50%.
