The National Testing Agency (NTA) has discontinued the CUET UG BA LLB syllabus. The integrated LLB admissions will now be conducted on the basis of General Aptitude Test. Along with CUET legal studies, some other subjects such as ‘Entrepreneurship’, ‘Teaching Aptitude’, ‘Fashion Studies’, ‘Tourism’ and ‘Engineering Graphics’ have been discontinued. With CUET BA LLB being discontinued, the students will have to appear in the Aptitude test which is also being redesigned.

The CUET General Aptitude Test, previously known as General test will be announced soon on the NTA’s website. There are several changes that NTA has planned for CUET UG 2025. Amog the most important ones include the change of exam mode from hybrid to computer based test mode.

In another change, the students will now be allowed to appear up to a maximum of five subjects. With this, students will be allowed to take any subject irrespective of their Class 12th subject.

This means, students from any background can appear in the CUET UG for BA LLB. The BA LLB eligibility in terms of educational qualification is consistent across the all law schools. Students from any background are allowed to study the integrated LLB programmes.

Duration of CUET BA LLB exam

Under the new exam pattern, the CUET BA LLB question paper will be of one hour duration. Infact, all question papers will be of one hour duration and all questionsn will be mandatory with negative marking for incorrect answers.

The CUET BA LLB 2025 will be held in 13 languages as listed below.

Revised CUET UG BA LLB Syllabus

Since the NTA plans to discontinue the CUET UG Legal studies subject. Candidates will now have to appear in the General Aptitude Test, the syllabus of which will be notified soon.

Since the General Aptitude Test is revamped version of general test, the syllabus of it is likley to remain in similar pattern with following subjects.

  1. General Knowledge, Current Affairs,

  2. General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability

  3. Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts Quantitative arithmetic / algebra geometry /mensuration / statistics),

  4. Logical and Analytical Reasoning

While these subjects are likely to find mention the new CUET BA LLB syllabus. There may be an additional subject involving reading comprehension. The difficulty level of revised CUET BA LLB syllabus will be of Class 12th level.

Admissions for CUET aren't solely based on 2 Non-Med Percentage along with JEE Mains percentile. The eligibility criteria for CUET require students to have scored at least 50% marks in their Class 12th exam for general candidates and 45% for reserved categories.
