PU LLB Counselling 2026: Dates, Admission Form, Process, Documents
The Panjab University has started the PU LLB counselling 2026 process after releasing the provisional merit list on August 11, 2026. The merit list is a combined list for the Department of Laws, Chandigarh, UIL PURC Ludhiana, UILS PU SSGRC Hoshiarpur and PURC Sri Muktsar Sahib. The PU LLB 2026 counselling is being conducted separately at these four centres from August 12 to August 18, 2026. Candidates included in the provisional merit list are required to report for counselling and document verification as per their rank and the schedule of their respective centre. Only those candidates who score above the minimum passing marks in the PU LLB result 2026 will be eligible to obtain admission.

The PU LLB 2026 entrance exam was conducted on June 28, 2026, and the result was declared on July 15, 2026. Candidates are being admitted to the 3-year LLB programme based on their position in the common merit list. The counselling of PU LLB 2026 is the last stage of the admission process, where only those candidates can participate who have a valid score in the entrance exam. During the counselling, candidates have to submit various documents along with the score card of PU LLB 2026 entrance exam and the course fee. Panjab University conducts the PU LLB entrance exam for admission to 480 seats offered by the university and its law centres. Admission to these law centres will be offered based on merit cum preference.

The Panjab University 3-year LLB counselling process starts with candidates filling out the admission form. Only those candidates who have scored more than the minimum passing marks can obtain admission. Based on the candidate's scores, the PU LLB 2026 merit list is prepared. The steps in the PU LLB 2026 counselling process are given below.
- Candidates must have filled out the PU LLB 2026 admission form after the results have been declared
- Publication of the PU LLB 2026 provisional merit list by the university based on the scores obtained by the candidates in the PU LLB entrance exam.
- Each of the participating PU LLB colleges releases the PU LLB counselling 2026 schedule for completing the admission process.
- Shortlisted applicants are required to report to the PU LLB counselling centre with original documents for verification.
- Candidates have to submit the required category-specific documents and undertakings, wherever applicable.
- Seats are allotted based on merit, category, seat availability and the counselling process.
- Candidates allotted seats have to complete the admission formalities and pay the prescribed admission fee to confirm their admission.

At the time of counselling, candidates have to bring all the original documents along with their photocopies, as mentioned below:
Mark sheet and certificate of the qualifying exam
Class 10th and Class 12th mark sheets and certificates
Category certificate (If applicable)
Character certificate
Gap year affidavit (If applicable)
One original ID card, such as a driving license, voter card, Aadhar card, etc.
Graduation certificate issued by the sports department of Panjab University (If applicable)
Medical certificate for physically challenged candidates
