The CLAT 2025 UG judgement will be delivered on April 23, 2025. There are no specific rules about how long the Delhi HC reserves the CLAT UG hearing verdict. In the case of Anil Rai vs State of Bihar, the Supreme Court had remarked that if the court does not deliver a judgement within 3 months after reserving it, the applicants can file a petition with a prayer for an early judgement.
If the judgement is not delivered even after 6 months of reserving it, then the applicants can file a petition before the Chief Justice of the HC to either withdraw the case or request the case to be heard by a different bench.
The top court’s position is that the judgements should be delivered as early as possible without inordinate delay.
Candidates can visit the official website of the Delhi HC - delhihighcourt.nic.in and check under the online cause list section to look for any notification that the court may publish about the CLAT UG hearing judgement date and the details of the judgement. The details of the upcoming CLAT PG 2025 hearings can also be found in this section. Additionally, the links to attend the upcoming hearings in online mode can also be found in the cause list published on the official website.
In its earlier hearing, the Division Bench of the Delhi HC led by the two judges has reiterated its commitment towards the early resolution of the cases. The court had said it will try to resolve the cases before the vacation begins. Now, the judgement will be delivered on April 23.
As per the usual timeline, the CLAT 2025 counselling ends in the month of May and classes commence in July. Given the court’s earlier commitment to quick resolution and the upcoming academic session, the CLAT 2025 judgement is being issued in time. However, it remains to be seen if the court sides with the candidates or the consortium. Candidates also await to see whether the HC will pronounce the UG and PG judgements together or will release them one by one.
