The Division Bench of the Supreme Court did not take up the CLAT 2025 cases on May 6, 2025 and adjourned till tomorrow the hearing of a petition challenging the judgment of the Delhi High Court. The CLAT 2025 result hearing will now be held on May 7, 2025. A bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan could not take up the CLAT UG matter today as it was scheduled to hear another matter afternoon, and will hear the petition tomorrow. Today, the court was informed that another candidate has also filed petition, challenging the Division Bench's judgement. "We had challenged three questions. One was allowed by the single bench, but the division bench reversed it. The Consortium had acceded to the question being wrong," the counsel said, requesting that the new Special Leave Petition be also listed tomorrow.
A candidate who attempted Set A and secured All India Rank 22 filed the SLP in the Supeme Court. She claimed that the High Court's ruling created an unfair disadvantage for candidates with the A Set Question Paper compared to those with the B, C, and D sets, thereby undermining the petitioner's right to a fair and balanced competition. On April 30, the Supreme Court stayed the Delhi High Court order asking the Consortium of National Law Universities to revise the marksheets and republish the final list of selected candidates in the answers to 4 questions in the CLAT 2025 answer key within four weeks. Read the article to find out the latest updates on the CLAT UG 2025 SC hearing. The Delhi HC has postponed the CLAT PG hearing, which is now scheduled to be held on May 26, 2025. It is yet to be seen if the matters in the CLAT PG exam will also escalate to the Supreme Court.

CLAT UG Next Hearing Date | May 7, 2025 |
A bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and AG Masih issued a stay order while hearing a Special Leave Petition (SLP) challenging the Delhi High Court's decision on April 23. The High Court identified errors in four questions across the B, C, and D sets of CLAT 2025, directing that affected candidates' marks and the merit list be revised within four weeks. However, the court did not grant the same advantage to students who had sat for the A set, declaring that it was error-free. A candidate who attempted the A set and obtained an All India Rank of 22 in CLAT 2025 is the petitioner who filed the SLP.

The Delhi High Court delivered its verdict on April 23 regarding multiple petitions challenging the CLAT UG 2025 results. The court has directed the NLU Consortium to revise the answers to four questions and republish the final selected candidates of CLAT UG-2025 within four weeks. The details are mentioned below:
Q.no | Details |
5 | Correct answer changed to Option C from Option D |
77 | Question withdrawn as it requires prior knowledge of law and is out of the syllabus. The earlier answer was option B |
115 | The option given in the answer key by the consortium is incorrect. Full marks to anyone who attempted the question correctly or incorrectly. The answer was option A, which was later changed to option D |
116 | Issue with numbering of questions in Set B, C and D. Full marks for anyone who attempted the question in Set B, C, and D. No court interference in Set A |
The delay in releasing the revised CLAT 2025 results will continue as the Supreme Court has deferred its hearing to May 6, 2025. The Consortium of NLUs will resume the CLAT 2025 counselling process only after all the related matters are settled. Earlier, the apex court had stayed the Delhi HC judgement on CLAT UG cases following a candidate’s appeal.
Hello
Yes, scholarships are available for CLAT merit holders. Many law schools, including some top institutions, offer financial assistance based on CLAT scores. For example, National Law Universities (NLUs) often offer merit-cum-means scholarships to students who excel in the exam. Additionally, some private organizations and law firms also offer scholarships to top CLAT scorers. The amount and criteria for these scholarships vary, but they usually cover tuition fees or provide financial support for study materials and other expenses.
Currently, CLAT is conducted in various cities across India, but as of now, there are no official test centers outside India, including in the UAE. Students residing abroad typically need to travel to India to appear for the exam. However, rules and centers may change in future, so I suggest keeping an eye on the official CLAT Consortium website, especially when the 2026 notification is released. If traveling to India is challenging, you can plan your trip in advance around the exam date. Also, for NRI or NRI-sponsored seats in Indian law colleges, some universities may have a different selection process that doesn’t require CLAT, so you can explore those options too.
Thank you,

Hello,
For CLAT PG 2026, if you aim for top NLUs like NALSAR, NLSIU and WBNUJS, a score of around 75+ marks (rank within 100 ) is generally good for the general category
Cut-offs change every year, so try to score as high as possible for a better chance.
Hope it helps !
Hello Aspirant,
No, you cannot use EWS certificate issued to your father in your name. In CLAT, EWS certificate is to be issued in the name of a candidate on the basis of family income and assets even if you are a minor. Since you are under 18, the certificate will still have your details but it will take your family income (with your father) into consideration. You will need to apply for your own EWS certificate through the local authority pre counselling.
