CLAT Application Date:01 Aug' 25 - 31 Oct' 25
The Delhi High Court completed the CLAT UG 2025 hearing on April 9. The Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, heard all the petitions concerning the CLAT UG exam one by one. However, the division bench reserved the judgement for a later date. The Consortium of National Law Universities is also expected to notify the CLAT 2025 counselling dates soon. The CLAT PG hearings scheduled to be held on April 21. After the CLAT 2025 UG hearings on April 9, the Delhi HC will remain closed for the week on account of holidays.
The Delhi HC conducted the CLAT UG 2025 hearings across 3 days from April 7 to 9, 2025. 13 cases related to the CLAT 2025 were heard one by one, and the petitioners were allowed to put forth their arguments. Senior Advocate Rajashekhar Rao appeared on behalf of the Consortium of NLUs and argued that courts should not interfere in academic matters donning the hat of an expert.
The cases relating to CLAT PG were not heard. The CLAT PG hearing will be conducted separately on April 21.
The CLAT UG cases are related to mistakes in the CLAT 2025 final answer key published by the Consortium of NLUs, which impacts the accuracy of the CLAT 2025 results.
One of the petitions by candidate Yajat Sen is about 4 questions in legal reasoning requiring prior knowledge of law to answer them, when the Consortium has clearly stated that no prior knowledge of law is required.
The well-known Aditya Singh Vs Consortium of NLUs is related to answers to five questions in Set A, for which answers are allegedly incorrect in the CLAT 2025 final answer key.
Another petition was about mistake in a question pertaining to gender gap in the wages paid to men and women.
Two petitions were unrelated to the CLAT 2025 answer key - candidate Kuber Swami filed a petition to be considered under the OBC category instead of the General category, while candidate Ayana Yadav filed a petition as she was not allowed to underline passages in the question paper during the exam.
Among the cases heard during the CLAT UG HC hearing, two of the petitions were found to be not related to mistakes in the CLAT 2025 answer key. The two petitions have been segregated from the rest of the petitions, and hearings for them will be conducted separately. The two cases will not affect the outcome of the CLAT 2025 revised results in any way.
The remaining petitions have been clubbed together, and the Delhi HC has reserved its judgement to be given at a later date. During the CLAT UG 2025 hearings, the Delhi HC stated its intention to resolve the cases before the vacation started. The judgement in the matter is expected to be given soon.
The Consortium of NLUs will notify the CLAT 2025 counselling dates as soon as the CLAT 2025 cases are resolved. The CLAT PG hearing is scheduled to be conducted on April 21. Given these hearing dates, the Consortium of NLUs is expected to publish the revised results and restart the CLAT 2025 counselling tentatively in the last week of April 2025 or the first week of May 2025.
Whether or not candidates will be allowed to register for counselling and submit fresh NLU preferences remains to be seen.

On Question asked by student community
It is always better to take the CLAT exam right after Class 12 if your goal is to build a career in law, because CLAT UG is specifically designed for admission into integrated five-year law programs like BA LLB, BCom LLB, or BBA LLB. Appearing after Class 12 saves you time, as you complete both graduation and law together in a single course. On the other hand, if you first complete graduation and then plan for law, you will not be eligible for CLAT UG but instead for CLAT PG, which is meant for admission into LLM programs. This path takes longer, because you first spend three or four years on graduation and then add another three years in an LLB program if you choose not to go for an integrated course. So, if you are already sure about pursuing law as your career, writing CLAT right after Class 12 is the smarter and time-saving option, while writing it after graduation makes sense only if you are considering higher studies in law or a shift in career later.
For CLAT, the most important topics are from Legal Reasoning, Current Affairs & GK, the Indian Constitution, English Language, Quantitative Techniques and Logical Reasoning. For a brief detail you can go through the following link: https://law.careers360.com/articles/clat-important-topics
Thank You.
Hi dear candidate,
Both the colleges Maharaja Agrasen (MAIMS) or Gitarattan (GIBS) are affiliated to IP University and allows admission either by CLAT or IPU CET Law. Without either of these exams, your admission is NOT accepted there. You can try looking for management quota seats in these colleges if you have got good marks in 12th class.

Right now there is no official e-guide for CLAT 2026 released by the Consortium of NLUs. They usually provide sample questions and model papers closer to the exam, but not a complete guide at this stage.
You can still prepare using free study material available online. Many websites provide free downloadable PDFs, mock tests, and previous year papers that will help you understand the pattern and practice important topics.
If you want a structured book, there are two good options. The Oswaal CLAT & AILET guide has past year solved papers, topic-wise questions, and mock tests. The Arihant CLAT Conqueror book has more than 3000 practice questions with solutions. Both are helpful depending on whether you prefer solved papers or more practice questions.
