Symbiosis International University (SIU) specifies the SLAT selection procedure 2026 on its official website- slat-test.org. Candidates aspiring to secure admissions into 5-year LLB programmes of participating Symbiosis Law Schools have to participate in the SLAT 2026 selection process to obtain a seat. In the selection process of SLAT 2026. 70% weightage is given to the SLAT result and 30% weightage is given to the Personal Interaction (PI) round. The candidate's score in SLAT 2026 will be converted to a scaled score of out of 70 marks. The online PI round of SLAT will carry 30 marks. The final merit list in the SLAT selection 2026 will be prepared based on consolidated marks in the exam and PI round. SIU will conduct the Symbiosis Law Admission Test online in two phases tentatively in December 2025. For candidates who appear in both phases of the exam, their best score in the two attempts will be considered in the SLAT 2026 selection process. The SLAT 2026 exam is conducted by the SIU. However, the PI rounds will be conducted separately by each law school. Candidates will be able to appear for the SLAT selection process of only those Symbiosis Law Schools and for those programmes for which they paid the programme registration fee of Rs 1000 at the time of SLAT 2026 registration done online. Through the selection process of SLAT 2026, candidates will be able to secure admission to BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes offered by the affiliated law schools.
Symbiosis International University (SIU) conducts a common law entrance test for the candidates who seek admission to its four affiliated law schools. The PI round will be held separately by the participating law schools. The Writing Ability Test (WAT) round is no longer conducted. It was removed from SLAT 2024 onwards.

SLAT will be conducted in online (CBT) mode at around 77 test centres across the country. As per the SLAT syllabus, there are five sections with 12 questions each. Candidates will have to answer 60 objective-type questions within 60 minutes as per SLAT 2026 exam pattern. The overview of the SLAT syllabus with marks distribution is given in the table below.

SIU will declare the SLAT 2026 result tentatively ten days after the exam. It announces the SLAT result in the form of a scorecard. Candidates can check the same by visiting the official website - set-test.org. Candidates will be shortlisted for the subsequent admission round based on their marks secured in the admission test. However, the marks obtained in the exam will have only 70% weightage in the final selection. Hence, candidates will have to score well in the PI round to get admission to their preferred law schools.
Candidates who clear the entrance exam will be shortlisted by the law schools for the PI round. Such candidates will receive the PI invitation letters on their registered emails. They would be required to complete online SLAT PI slot booking and upload the CV as per prescribed format. SLAT PI round is an important part of the SLAT 2026 selection procedure. Candidates must attend the PI rounds to be eligible for admission to law programmes of SLSs.
The SLAT PI round is conducted by the affiliated law schools of SIU to test the personality of the candidates. The interviews will be conducted either in online mode. The PI round will be of 30 marks. Candidates are advised to maintain composure and stay confident by preparing for the PI round. The SLAT 2026 merit list will be prepared by each participating SLS separately at the end of the SLAT 2026 selection process. The merit list of SLAT 2026 containing the names of the candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the examination and PI round. Candidates included in the merit list have to complete their admission process by paying the admission fee and submitting the necessary documents. There are 4 affiliated law schools of SIU that participate in the SLAT selection process. These are - SLS Pune, SLS Hyderabad, SLS Noida and SLS Nagpur.
Writing ability test is no longer conducted for admissions to Symbiosis Law Schools.
Candidates will have to submit SLAT admit card, SLAT scorecard, mark sheets and qualification certificate of Class 10 and 12, passport-size photographs and other important documents during SLAT selection process.
