The Delhi HC heard the CLAT 2025 cases on March 3, 2025. The court has asked Consortium's counsel to submit a counter affidavit within two weeks, as per the latest CLAT 2025 hearing updates. The Delhi HC will decide whether the results are needed to be revised or not. The outcome of the CLAT 2025 HC hearing will decide the fate of thousands of candidates who appeared for CLAT 2025. It remains to be seen whether the Consortium of National Law Universities will revise the CLAT 2025 results. In the recent CLAT 2025 SC judgement delivered by a bench comprising of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Sanjay Kumar, and K V Viswanathan all petitions challenging CLAT 2025 results were transferred to the Delhi HC for expeditious decision. As the CLAT 2025 court cases remain unresolved, candidates are increasingly uncertain about their fate.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had directed the Consortium of NLUs to proceed with the publication of the CLAT 2025 result as per the order passed by the single-judge bench of HC on December 20, 2024. This order was later upheld by a division bench of the HC on December 24. The change in the CLAT 2025 answer key due to the court order is likely to impact the CLAT 2025 revised result. The revision of the CLAT 2025 result will affect the CLAT 2025 merit list, as even one mark can significantly impact the CLAT results and cause a big variation in the candidates’ rank in the merit list.
The below table includes all the important CLAT 2025 cases which are pending in different High Courts across the country.
High Court | Case Filed By | Details |
---|---|---|
Delhi HC | Aditya Singh | Mistakes in CLAT UG answer key |
Bombay HC | Anam Khan | Mistakes in CLAT PG answer key and high cost of raising objections |
Madhya Pradesh HC | Ayush Agarwal | Mistakes in CLAT PG answer key and high cost of raising objections |
Calcutta HC | Aslesha Ajitsaria | Result dispute |
In an earlier judgement, single judge Jyoti Singh asked the NLU Consortium to revise the CLAT 2025 results by changing answers to question no. 14 and withdrawing question no. 100 in CLAT 2025 Set A answer key.
Considering the judgment was upheld by the division bench later, the Court is expected to again uphold it. This means, CLAT 2025 final answer key may be revised for at least question 14 and question 100. It remains to be seen whether the remaining contested answers will be revised or not. Due to the change, some candidates may see their CLAT 2025 marks go up by up to 1.25 marks, while some may see their marks drop by up to 1.25. Meanwhile, candidates will also get clarity on CLAT LLM results, whether they will be revised or not.
The Delhi High Court has so far made two changes in the CLAT 2025 UG answer key based on the petition filed by Aditya Singh in its earlier hearings conducted in December 2024. Three of his remaining objections were rejected by the HC.
Question No | Consortium’s answer | Candidate’s answer | Court Order |
---|---|---|---|
14 | D | C | Objection accepted |
37 | D | C | Objection rejected |
67 | B | C | Objection rejected |
68 | C | D | Objection rejected |
100 | D | B | Question withdrawn |
The tables given below provide how candidates' score may change due to the revision of the answer key for the two questions (Q. no 14 and 100). The change in the candidate's score will impact their rankings in the CLAT merit list 2025.
Candidate's Answer | Marks Awarded for Revision | Impact on Negative Marks Due to Revision | Impact on Final CLAT 2025 Score |
---|---|---|---|
If your answer is C | +1 mark | +0.25 marks | +1.25 marks |
If your answer is D | -1 mark | -0.25 marks | -1.25 marks |
If your answer is A or B | No change | No change | Marks remain the same |
Candidate Answer | Marks Awarded for Revision | Impact on Negative Marks Due to Revision | Impact on Final CLAT 2025 Score |
---|---|---|---|
If your answer is D | -1 mark | 0 | -1 mark |
Any other option | 0 | +0.25 mark | +0.25 marks |
