The CLAT 2025 SC hearing judgement is out on May 7, 2025. In the CLAT SC hearing, 6 questions from the CLAT UG exam were considered by the court. Out of them, three questions have been withdrawn, and answers to two questions have been changed. The answer to one of the questions has been upheld as per the Delhi HC verdict. The Consortium of NLUs had already accepted the HC verdict to change the answer to Question no. 5 in the master booklet. The CLAT 2025 SC judgement is likely to significantly impact one’s score in the CLAT 2025 revised result and affect one’s admission chances in the counselling process. In this article, let’s look at what will be the impact of the verdict by the top on one’s score in CLAT 2025.
With the SC judgement out, the Consortium of NLUs is expected to start the CLAT 2025 counselling process soon. The SC judgement was issued by a Division Bench comprising of Justice B R Gavai and Justice A G Masih. The apex court had earlier issued a stay order on the Delhi HC verdict after petitions were filed by candidates Siddhi Sandeep Ladda and Aditya Singh.
Given below is the verdict passed by the Supreme Court for cases in CLAT 2025 UG. A total of 6 questions were considered. The Delhi HC verdict on Question no. 5 was already accepted by the Consortium of NLUs.
Q. no | SC Verdict | Details |
56 | Correct answer is option C and D both | The court finds option C is also a correct option in addition to option D. |
77 | Correct answer is option B | The question can be answered using logical reasoning and common sense and hence it is not out of syllabus. The withdrawn question is now reinstated. |
78 | No interference by SC | SC refuses to interfere with the question |
88 | Question withdrawn | Q. 88 was similar to Q. no 85. Since the Q. no 85 is already deleted by the Consortium, 88 must also be withdrawn |
115 | Question withdrawn | Mistakes in the question and answer |
116 | Question withdrawn | Both the questions are deleted as there was an error in one of the questions - 115 and the answer to 116 depended on the question 115. Error in numbering the questions. |
